Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify several important changes, including the removal of the individual bus stops, the creation of a bus station, and the separation of staff and public parking. You also describe the two roundabouts and the public car park’s new position east of the Ring Road. However, there is no clear overview summarising the main changes, and some details are inaccurate or unclear: the bus stops were not converted into a station on the western side; the bus station was newly built there. The statement that the staff car park has an opening towards the Ring Road is not supported by the map. Clarify the layout changes and distinguish the new public car park from the existing staff car park to make the report more complete and precise.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response follows a broadly chronological order, moving from the 2007 layout to the 2010 changes, and the reader can identify the main locations being discussed. However, the information is not grouped into a clear overview and supporting details, so the progression feels uneven. The second paragraph repeats car-park access information and introduces the roundabouts in a confusing sequence. Linking words such as “while” and “also” are used, but some connections do not clearly show the relationship between ideas. Organise the report into an opening overview followed by a paragraph on the earlier layout and one on the changes, and use clearer references to each road and facility.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant map vocabulary, including “Ring Road,” “Bus station,” “roundabout,” and “car parking,” which helps communicate the subject. There are also attempts to describe change, such as “subdivided” and “converted,” although the latter does not accurately describe the new bus station. The range is limited and several word choices or forms are awkward, for example “allocate only for Staff car parking” and “opening area.” Spelling errors such as “roaad” and “roundaabout” also reduce accuracy. Use precise map-reporting expressions such as “was designated as,” “was constructed,” and “was accessible from,” and check spelling and collocations before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt to combine information in longer sentences, but control is inconsistent, and errors sometimes make relationships between features difficult to follow. For example, “the city hospital located in between Ring Road have” has problems with the verb form and sentence structure, while “a major development occur” does not use the correct past tense. Articles, agreement, and punctuation also need attention, as in “a roundabout first in the start that divide.” Several sentences run together or use commas where a full stop would make the meaning clearer. Practise accurate past-tense descriptions and build sentences around a clear subject and verb; shorter, correctly punctuated sentences would improve readability.
