Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify the main change: the shared parking area became separate staff and public car parks, and the bus stops were replaced by a bus station. You also note that Hospital Road gained roundabouts, so the response addresses the key comparison. However, some details are inaccurate or unclear: the 2010 map shows two roundabouts, not “three,” and the bus station is west of Hospital Road, rather than simply “at south side.” The public car park is east of the Ring Road, not on its “east-north side.” Your overview gives a useful summary, but the changes to road connections and the removal of the individual stops need clearer, more precise reporting.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has an overall structure, moving from an overview to details about 2007 and then the updated map. Contrast markers such as “However” help signal comparison. Nevertheless, progression is difficult to follow because several ideas are crowded into long sentences, and the final sentence combines the bus station, road connections and roundabouts without clear relationships. The repeated reference to the Ring Road also interrupts the comparison rather than advancing it. Paragraphing is limited, and phrases such as “after the update version of map” make it hard to see where one stage ends and the next begins. Group the changes by feature—parking, bus facilities and road layout—and use clear time references to guide the reader.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant map vocabulary, including “Ring Road,” “car park,” “bus stop,” “roundabout” and “connecting,” which allows the reader to recognise the main features. There is also an attempt to describe change with “remained,” “added” and “separated.” However, some word choices are imprecise or unnatural, such as “older version,” “same space inside,” and “bus moved,” which obscure the intended meaning. Spelling errors in “seperated” and “juctions,” along with inconsistent forms such as “roundabout” where a plural is needed, reduce accuracy. Aim for precise location and change language, for example “was replaced by” and “was located to the west of.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with contrast and relative information, as in “However ring road remained around the hospital.” This shows some range, but control is uneven. The opening has subject–verb disagreement (“The maps compares”), and several clauses lack clear sentence boundaries or punctuation. In “City hospital after the update version of map they seperated…,” the sentence structure is incomplete and the subject is unclear. Articles and prepositions are also sometimes missing, as in “at east-north side” and “at same place.” Use shorter, complete sentences when describing each change, and check agreement, articles and punctuation before combining clauses.
