Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify the two years and mention several relevant changes, including separate public and staff parking and the introduction of a bus station. However, the account only partially reports the map information, and the overview is unclear: the claim that people had more parking in 2010 is relevant, but the maps do not show lighting or a “biggest problem” with it. Some locations are also inaccurate or vague; for example, the bus station is west of Hospital Road, not opposite the staff car park, and the 2007 bus stops are omitted. To strengthen the response, describe the main changes precisely: the bus stops were replaced by a bus station, roundabouts were added at both ends of Hospital Road, and a new public car park was built beside Ring Road.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable sequence, moving from 2007 to 2010 and then giving an overall comment. Connectors such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” “Moreover,” and “Overall” help signal this structure. However, the progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because several map details and unsupported comments are combined in long sentences. For instance, the 2010 paragraph moves from parking to the bus station and then to lighting without clearly distinguishing the changes shown on the map. Some linking words also create unclear relationships, such as “However, other all facilitys are same place.” Organise the response into a clear introduction, an overview of the main changes, and separate year-by-year details, using references that make each location easy to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “Ring Road,” “staff car parking,” “public,” and “Bus station,” so the reader can identify the general subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or spellings make details unclear, such as “city rod,” “facilitys,” “vehical,” and “pubic tansportation.” Some phrases are also imprecise for describing a map: “opposite the staff car parking” does not accurately convey the bus station’s position, while “different road access” is less natural than “changes to road access.” Use precise location language and map vocabulary, such as “to the west of,” “adjacent to,” “was replaced by,” and “direct access from Ring Road.” Check spelling carefully, especially for repeated key terms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt to connect ideas with longer sentences and use time references to distinguish the two maps, but the range of sentence structures is limited and errors frequently affect clarity. Examples include “This two maps illustrate,” “the City Hospital was located in central of the part,” and “In addition around the city hospital located ring road,” where agreement, articles, and sentence structure are not controlled. Tense use is also inconsistent: “people got more parking space” shifts into an informal past form when describing the 2010 map. Punctuation and spacing errors, such as “Fristly,In” and “Overall,In,” further interrupt reading. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with controlled clauses: “In 2010, a bus station was built west of Hospital Road.”
