Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is always believed that surviving in different nation where the language differs from the actual mother tongue is very hard and it can create various issue to our everyday life and as well as it brings hurdle in socialisation. In my analysis, the statement is true and i totally believe that it makes ones life difficult. So,in this essay i will try to depict my perspective about me agreeing with this statement.

These days many poeple are travelling throughout the world inorder to get the experience of the whole world as per the reviews of the visior it has always been said that the being non native speaker is very hard. These are the words of travellers who goes there just for trip. Therefore, the individuals who are trying to survive might have the biggest hardship since, they have to follow every routine that is needed to survive. For instance:A student travel to a different land and he\she is unaware of the language there.Eventhough,he\she doesnt now a single thing but inorder to pay for their tution fee one have to work.Because,he\she doesnt understand a wordit makes life 10 times harder the reason is that the university wont know the hurdle behind student life and he\she has to pay.

Since, the person doesnt have a knowledge about the word that comes out of the mouth.He\she tends to maintain distance with other in other to prevent themself from involving in activities that they are not familiar with.Consequently, the individual become more and more socially awkard which will eventually lead o depression and anxiety. An illustration of this is:A girl who was introvert in nature before travellling to other nation goes and she doesnt understand a thing written or spoken there. She will definately not question other for help.Instead, she will try to reamin far from people as far as possible. So,gradually she become victim of some dangerous illness. Moreover, many human beings become the victim of depression due to loliness too.

To conclude,I strongly believe that living in differnt land where one is unawre of the language makes both social and practical life very challenging.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you strongly agree that living where the language is unfamiliar creates both practical and social difficulties. You address both parts of the prompt, using the student’s difficulty paying tuition and the newcomer’s withdrawal from social contact as relevant examples. However, the practical point is not fully explained: the link between language barriers, work, and paying tuition is difficult to follow, and the social example relies on a hypothetical person rather than developing the consequences in detail. The claim that isolation may lead to depression is relevant but would be stronger with a clearer explanation or a specific supporting example. Develop each main idea through a more precise cause-and-effect explanation.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs addressing practical and social problems, and a conclusion that restates your view. This gives the reader a coherent route through your argument. You also use linking expressions such as “For instance,” “Consequently,” and “Moreover.” At times, however, these links feel mechanical or do not make the relationship between ideas clear. For example, “Therefore” does not clearly connect the travel-review claim to the hardship faced by people settling abroad, and “Since” begins a fragment rather than a complete sentence. Some references, including repeated “he/she” and “the individual,” are cumbersome. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each example directly to the point it supports.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary suited to the topic, including “non native speaker,” “socially awkward,” “depression,” and “anxiety,” and the reader can generally identify your intended meaning. However, the range is limited by repeated general terms such as “hard,” “life,” and “person,” while several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear. For instance, “surviving in different nation” and “maintain distance with other” do not sound natural, and “loliness” appears to be a misspelling of “loneliness.” These errors sometimes make the reader pause to interpret your meaning. Build a bank of accurate phrases for language barriers, daily tasks, and social isolation, and check spelling and collocations during revision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “Since,” “Because,” and “which,” and you use examples to extend your points. However, control is inconsistent, particularly in longer sentences. “Since, the person doesnt have a knowledge about the word that comes out of the mouth” is an incomplete sentence, while “the individual become more and more socially awkward” has a subject–verb agreement error. There are also problems with articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries, as in “a student travel to a different land” and the run-on construction beginning “Because, he/she…”. Practise building complete sentences with one clear main clause, then add subordinate clauses carefully. Proofread for verb agreement, articles, and punctuation.
