Student answer (Band 5.5)

A foreign speaking country brings grave community issues along with pragmatic problems in living. I am totally endorse with this statement because language gape can creates several misunderstanding and it also really hazardous for a foreigner to manage emplyment or any kind of jobs for living.

First cause why I support this idea is that misunderstanding language can bring several issue along people. It is not that effortless to just communicate randomly with a foreigner without knowing the language properly and their culture. For instanse, sometimes a foreigner might mininterprete a word or phrase that the other person may uses traditionally in conversation. Consequently, this simple matters create major fights or issues. Additionally, living in a country without having enough skill in the language can prevents the foreign person to explore the country. Everywhere individuals talking in a way or using a tone that is totally unfamilier, it is quite challenging.

Another reason is that living in a foreign speaking country can be hazardous to sustain a job because of the language berrier. Since most of the people tend to talk in a perticular language, it might be hard to convince the local people to secure a work. For example, international students from distace part of the world finds it vary difficult to manage a job in France only because of insufficient knowledge in french language. As a result, those students suffer initially to get a work for the livelihood.

In conclusion, living in a country where people tend to talk in a foreign language is quite challenging for a person since language berrier can creates several problems. Such as, it can misunderstanding among people, and it is very challenging to manage a suitable work in a foreign country.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear from the opening: you fully support the view that living where another language is spoken can create serious difficulties. You address both social problems, such as misunderstandings and conflict, and practical problems, especially finding work; the example of international students in France helps illustrate the latter. However, the social point is developed more through general statements than through a specific example, and the claim that language barriers can lead to “major fights” is not fully explained. The conclusion restates your position but introduces no further insight. To strengthen the response, explain the consequences of one social misunderstanding in more detail and make the employment example more precise.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion. The progression from social difficulties to employment problems is easy to follow, and signposts such as “First cause,” “Another reason,” and “In conclusion” help identify the stages of the argument. However, some linking is mechanical, and connections between ideas are occasionally unclear. For example, “Additionally” introduces difficulty exploring the country, but its relationship to the preceding point about misunderstandings could be made more explicit. The final sentence beginning “Such as” is also an incomplete continuation rather than a smoothly connected summary. Use a wider range of natural transitions and ensure each paragraph develops one connected line of reasoning.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt vocabulary suited to the topic, including “misunderstanding,” “language barrier,” “sustain a job,” and “livelihood.” These choices show an effort to express both social and practical consequences. However, inaccurate word choice, collocation, and spelling are frequent enough to make some phrases awkward or unclear, as in “foreign speaking country,” “pragmatic problems in living,” and “language gape.” There are also misspellings such as “mininterprete,” “unfamilier,” and “berrier.” Aim for accurate, natural combinations rather than more formal-sounding words: for instance, “a country where a different language is spoken” and “find or keep a job” are clearer. Proofreading spelling and checking collocations would improve precision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “because,” “since,” and “where,” and the main ideas are generally understandable. However, control of sentence structure and grammar is inconsistent, particularly in longer sentences. Examples include “I am totally endorse,” “language gape can creates,” and “living … can prevents,” where verb forms do not agree with the subject or modal construction. Other errors include “students … finds” and the fragment “Such as, it can misunderstanding among people.” These problems sometimes make the intended meaning harder to follow. Practise modal patterns such as “can create,” subject–verb agreement, and complete sentence construction. Then check each sentence for a clear subject and correctly formed verb.
