Student answer (Band 5.0)

In recent years, people argue about the problem of language when you leave in a foreigne country and think that it can causes a serious social problems. In my opinion I strongly disgree this idea.

On one hand speaking a foreign language can not cause any problem. Because nowdays there are lot of support and new technological tools to learn a new language or to simply understand it while you have no idea about it and also lot people can understand english even some words. Whereas, with a daily social interaction people can easly learn the language within few months. For example a foreigne students in Italy dosen't know the italian but once he will comunicate with his freinds and he got some interaction and learn the language from apps or IA tools, the language barriers will not be a problem in 6 or 7 months. As a result the social problems and practical ones related to the language can be easly handle in few months.

On the other hand people think that to speak a foreign laguage can lead to a social problems. Because of the fear to be unable to communicate with others, in addition it can be very problematic situation if a person want to find a job. For instance in the most of the coutries having a good english is not sufficient people have to know some basics about the local language to be able to work in a entity. As a result this can be quite challenging for some people to communicate or to practice the language.

In the conclusion, I disgree the idea who say if you have to speak a foreigne language you will face several problems like the practical ones. But actually with the emergence of new technologies supports, people can be easly able to speake a foreign language.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You give a clear overall view that you disagree, and you address both social and practical difficulties, especially through the examples of making friends and finding work. However, the response only partly develops the task: the opening says language “can cause” serious problems, while your position that it “cannot cause any problem” is too absolute and is not fully reconciled with the challenges you later acknowledge. The examples are relevant but brief, and the claim that people can learn a language in six or seven months is asserted rather than supported. To strengthen the response, state a more precise extent of agreement and explain how technology and everyday interaction reduce, but may not eliminate, the problems.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting contrasting views, and a conclusion. Linking phrases such as “On one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “As a result” help signal relationships between ideas. However, progression is limited because the first body paragraph repeats the claim that language problems can be overcome, while the second introduces difficulties without clearly connecting them to your own position. Some links are mechanical or awkward, and the opening “Because” fragments interrupt the flow. Improve cohesion by making each paragraph develop one clear point, using references that show how examples support your argument, and ensuring the conclusion follows logically from the discussion rather than restating it.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use a basic range of topic vocabulary, including “language barriers,” “social interaction,” “communicate,” and “practical problems,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. However, vocabulary is limited and several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors make the writing less clear or natural, such as “foreigne,” “easly,” “dosen't,” and “entity.” Some phrases are also imprecise, including “new technological tools” and “some basics about the local language.” Aim to use accurate forms and more specific collocations—for example, describe language-learning apps or translation tools, and refer to the language skills required for employment. Checking spelling and choosing precise expressions would make your argument easier to follow.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “Because,” “while,” and “if.” However, the range is limited, and complex constructions are often faulty. For example, “people argue about the problem … and think that it can causes” has problems with verb form and agreement, while “a foreign students … doesn't know” has inconsistent number and agreement. Articles and sentence boundaries are also unreliable, as in “Because nowdays there are lot of support” and the fragment beginning “Because of the fear.” These errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to read. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a correctly formed subordinate clause, then check agreement, articles, and punctuation.
