Student answer (Band 6.0)
nowadays many people are moving abroad where they have to speak different language which is way more different from their native language.there are huge number of foreign students who have many language problems at the start which can led to some serious misconceptions.I largely agree with this point of view as i have seen many people with language problems in foreign countries. As many people have problems while communicating with other people they cannot speak the language well so because of language barrier they avoid socialaising and end up being alone in foreign country which led tothem towards serious depression symptoms.many times while doing grocceries or other daily chores they face language barrier.many students felt left out in acedamic projects as their fellows speak different languages which make things difficult to understand. To overcome such kind of social and practical problems many people join language courses which are quiet helpful for them to overcome the language barriers in foreign countries.
many people quiet their degrees in different countries because they think that language of that country is not their cup of tea.To understand the language it is compulsery to socialize with native people of the country it the most fastest way to adopt the different language.
in conclusion,i think that it could be difficult at some point espacially at initial level to understand the foreign language but by the time the difficulties could be overcomed by adopting the culture of the country and sociallaising with the people out there.there also short language courses for learning are new language.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both social and practical problems associated with living in a foreign country. You clearly state your position in the introduction and maintain it throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, while you mention 'serious depression symptoms' and 'academic projects,' these points are not fully explored or supported with specific examples or deeper analysis. To reach a higher band, you should aim to expand on your arguments with more detailed explanations or illustrative examples, ensuring that the connection between the language barrier and the resulting problems is more thoroughly articulated.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. However, the use of cohesive devices is quite limited and sometimes mechanical. There is a lack of varied linking words to connect sentences and ideas smoothly. For example, the transition between the discussion of social problems and practical problems is abrupt. Additionally, some sentences are run-on or lack proper punctuation, which affects the flow. To improve, focus on using a wider range of cohesive devices (such as 'furthermore,' 'consequently,' or 'in contrast') to create a more logical progression of ideas between and within paragraphs.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'problems' and 'people' repeatedly. There are also several spelling errors, such as 'socialaising,' 'grocceries,' 'acedamic,' 'quiet' (used instead of 'quite'), and 'compulsery.' These errors are noticeable but do not prevent the reader from understanding your message. To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary and collocations related to the topic of language acquisition and social integration, and pay closer attention to spelling and word choice accuracy.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include missing articles (e.g., 'in foreign country'), subject-verb agreement errors (e.g., 'many students felt left out'), and incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'difficulties could be overcomed'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with many sentences lacking proper capitalization at the start or appropriate spacing after periods. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall clarity of your writing. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for common grammatical slips will help improve your score.
