Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 183 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas, as the essay is incomplete and cuts off mid-sentence in the conclusion. While you establish a position, the arguments are under-developed and lack sufficient supporting evidence. To improve, you must ensure you provide a full introduction, well-supported body paragraphs with specific examples, and a complete conclusion. The brevity of the response prevents a full exploration of the prompt, resulting in a lower score for task achievement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay uses basic cohesive devices such as 'To commence with' and 'Furthermore' to link paragraphs. However, the progression of ideas is hindered by the incomplete nature of the text. Paragraphing is attempted, but the final paragraph is unfinished, which disrupts the overall structure. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical. To achieve a higher score, focus on using a wider range of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence followed by fully developed supporting points that lead logically to the next section.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for basic communication but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on simple phrasing such as 'most people faces problem' and 'living in a abroad'. There are also issues with word choice, such as 'care develoment' and 'relisience', which appear to be spelling errors or misuse of terminology. To improve, aim to incorporate more academic collocations and precise vocabulary related to the topic of language acquisition and social integration, while ensuring accurate spelling and word formation.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The grammar contains frequent errors that occasionally impede clarity, such as 'I am agree' (should be 'I agree'), 'most people faces' (subject-verb agreement), and 'living ina foreign'. The sentence structures are predominantly simple, with limited attempts at complex sentences. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing and the use of semicolons. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement, correct article usage, and sentence construction. Increasing your control over complex structures will help you convey more sophisticated ideas accurately.
