Student answer (Band 5.0)
Several individuals believe that living in a country where
you have to talk in a foreign language can results into crucial problems as well as pragmatic problems . This has become a heated topic in this contemporary society. Is this really a concerning problem should individuals stop migrating to countries where they have to speak other language instead of their own native language this will be discussed in this essay.
According to Several individuals that living in foreign countries where we have to talk foreign language in daily basis can cause problems such socially when we are in general public it can our work place where we are employee or at university where we study what if someone asks us something significant and we do not understand their what they are enquiring and we answer about any other which is not even related to the topic in addition they will make fun of me or if i answer my grammar is not correct what they will think about me .They consider because of language my employer can fire which is concerning and can cause temporary disturbance in the life of an individual.
In my perspective theses individual are wrong about almost everything mostly people migrate as a student or as a worker to developed countries from developing countries they move there because of carrer opportunities that they dont have in their own countries most of they countries in the world have their own language even in continent Europe and Asia almost every country have their own language then if an individual believe his language is weak where he is going to study and it can cause consequences that are not favorable for him why not first learn about their language then move i am moving to united kingdom i am studying english the reason to that is it will help me to live and study there without any concern. Everyone should understand the significance of a language he should be able to talk then he should move there this is the way see this .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the social and practical challenges of living in a foreign-language environment. However, the development is uneven. The first paragraph introduces the topic but lacks a clear, cohesive thesis statement. The second paragraph attempts to list problems but relies on personal, anecdotal scenarios rather than broader, more analytical arguments. The third paragraph shifts to a counter-argument, but the reasoning is somewhat simplistic. To reach a higher band, you should ensure each paragraph focuses on a distinct, well-developed idea that directly supports your overall position, rather than relying on personal narratives.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the internal structure is weak. There is a lack of logical progression between sentences, and the use of cohesive devices is minimal or misused. For example, the transition 'According to Several individuals that living in foreign countries' is grammatically awkward and does not effectively link ideas. Referencing is often unclear, particularly in the second paragraph where the subject shifts abruptly. To improve, you need to use a wider range of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in contrast') and ensure that each sentence flows logically from the previous one.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. You rely on basic terms like 'problems' and 'talk', which restricts your ability to express complex ideas. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'results into' instead of 'results in' and 'pragmatic problems' used in a context where 'practical' or 'logistical' would be more appropriate. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of variety and the presence of errors in word formation prevent the essay from achieving a higher score. Expanding your vocabulary to include more academic collocations would be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. There are significant issues with sentence structure, such as run-on sentences and missing punctuation, particularly in the introduction and the second paragraph. Subject-verb agreement is inconsistent (e.g., 'most of they countries'), and there is a lack of complex sentence structures. While you attempt to use some subordinate clauses, they are often punctuated incorrectly. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring every sentence has a clear subject and verb, and practicing the correct use of commas and periods to separate distinct thoughts.
