Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this modern world, immigrants face several issues because of new languages used by different nations. People have expertise in their own mother tongues but learning foreign languages is a difficult task for them.
I am strongly agree with this statement.
To begin with, workplace language barrier is the most pivotal factor which is faced by several immigrants. Because individuals are not be able to understand the tasks which are given to them easily and even during presentations they face communication issues. For instance, my friend Ram is in Germany, he is a student and he faces numerous problems while communicating with his classmates and teachers because of German language, as a consequence he finds difficult to understand and ask doubts in German language.
On one hand, social isolation is also a crucial factor which is caused due to foreign languages. Immigrants are not be able to engage in social gatherings and events because of language barrier, as a result they remain aloof from the society and suffer with several illnesses. For example, my Pankaj uncle is in France with his family, he faces several issues because of French language like he is not be able attend social gatherings and public events. Furthermore, sometimes he was bullied because he was not be able to communicate in French language.
In conclusion, residents faced numerous social as well as practical problems because of different languages and cultures in the foreign soil. Moreover, due to language barriers people face racism and criticism in other nations.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both social and practical problems. The position is clear from the introduction. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you provide examples like your friend in Germany and your uncle in France, these are anecdotal and could be expanded with more analytical depth to fully explore the 'extent' of the issue. The conclusion is a bit repetitive and does not fully synthesize the arguments presented. To improve, focus on developing the implications of these problems rather than just listing them, ensuring that the connection between the language barrier and the resulting social/practical consequences is more thoroughly explained.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'For instance', and 'On one hand'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as using 'On one hand' when the previous paragraph did not present a contrasting 'On the other hand' argument. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally repetitive, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring they are used to create logical transitions rather than just as paragraph starters will help elevate your score.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. You use some relevant topic-specific terms like 'workplace language barrier', 'social isolation', and 'aloof'. However, there are instances of awkward phrasing and word choice, such as 'ask doubts' (should be 'ask questions' or 'raise concerns') and 'foreign soil'. The range is somewhat limited, and there is a tendency to repeat certain phrases like 'not be able to'. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more precise collocations and a wider variety of academic vocabulary to express your ideas with greater sophistication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
There is a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but the accuracy is inconsistent. You frequently make errors with verb forms, such as 'I am strongly agree' (should be 'I strongly agree') and 'not be able to' (should be 'not able to' or 'unable to'). There are also issues with subject-verb agreement and tense consistency, such as 'residents faced' (should be 'face') and 'he was bullied' (should be 'he is bullied' for consistency). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be noticeable. Focusing on basic grammatical accuracy and reducing repetitive errors will significantly improve your writing.
