Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt but struggles with clarity and logical development. While you acknowledge the social and practical problems, the introduction is confusing, mentioning 'merits' of the situation when the prompt asks about 'problems'. The body paragraphs attempt to provide examples, such as Indian students in Germany or migrants in Canada, but these are not fully developed or clearly linked to the core argument. The conclusion is somewhat contradictory, as you state you agree with the statement but then discuss the benefits of technology, which weakens your overall position. To improve, ensure your main ideas are clearly stated and consistently supported throughout the essay.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression is often interrupted by awkward phrasing and confusing transitions. For example, the use of 'Meanwhile, not only the positive of this situation but also negative' is grammatically incorrect and confusing. While you use some cohesive devices like 'Furthermore' and 'However', they are sometimes used incorrectly or do not effectively link the ideas. The referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the flow of your argument. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear, singular focus will significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms and occasionally use words incorrectly, such as calling the problems 'merits' in the second paragraph. There are also issues with word forms, such as 'migrant sign agreement' instead of 'migrants sign agreements'. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using more sophisticated vocabulary and ensuring that your word choices are accurate and appropriate for the context. Expanding your range of collocations will also help you express your ideas more naturally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Common issues include missing articles ('an Indian students'), incorrect verb forms ('migrant sign agreement'), and subject-verb agreement errors ('people should able to'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas and full stops. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on basic grammatical accuracy, such as pluralisation and verb tense consistency, will be a crucial step for your improvement.
