Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by acknowledging both social and practical problems. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention language barriers causing conflicts and employment issues, the explanation remains superficial. The inclusion of a 'recent study' is a good attempt at support, but the connection to the argument could be more robust. The position is clear throughout, but the counter-argument in the third paragraph is underdeveloped and slightly contradicts your initial stance, making the overall argument feel less cohesive. To improve, ensure each body paragraph fully explores the 'why' and 'how' of your points with more detailed reasoning.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'Furthermore', and 'In conclusion'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'As a consequently' or 'According to my perspective, I firmly agreed'. Additionally, some transitions between sentences are abrupt, which affects the flow. The referencing is generally clear, but the logical progression within paragraphs could be strengthened by ensuring that each sentence builds directly upon the previous one rather than simply listing points.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks precision and sophistication. You use some repetitive or slightly inaccurate phrasing, such as 'illiterate of foreign languages' (instead of 'lack of proficiency') and 'migrate people' (instead of 'migrants'). While you attempt to use less common items like 'plethora' and 'paramount', their usage is sometimes slightly off-target in terms of collocation. To reach a higher band, focus on using more natural collocations and avoiding word-choice errors that occasionally make the meaning slightly opaque.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Examples include 'everyone require' (subject-verb agreement), 'effect habitants' personalities' (confusing 'affect' and 'effect'), and 'assist few chances' (incorrect word choice). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after periods and commas. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring correct word forms.
