Student answer (Band 5.0)

In this rapidly involving world, speak other language for people is not esey. Stay in a country where individuals have to talk in foreign language can make multipale problems, like social and practical. I strongly believe that this can make problems for people who do not have any idea for other country language, because they do not communicate properly with others.

To commence with, speaking foreign language is not a matter of jock for uneducated people, this is because, if individual is not educated, then it is hard to larn other language. In india, For instance, many villagiyan have not proper education, so larn and speak foreign language is hard for them. As a result, people face multipale problems and the do not live their life easily.

Moreover, the main problem is people do not communicate with each other properly, this is because, they do not speak other language, as well as not understand what others say them. So individuals face not only have problem in speaking, but also have problem in listeaning foreign language. In Germany, To exemplify, mostly people prefer their owen German language, so other country people need to larn German language if they want to stay there. Therefor, people do not speak properly and do not understand others country language.

In conclusion, although, speak foreign language has some benefits, it can make multipale causes, like communication and speaking. Speaking foreign language and understanding it not easy for uneducated people, it is hard for them and they not live life proper way.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing social and practical problems related to language barriers. However, the development is limited. The ideas regarding 'uneducated people' and the examples provided (India, Germany) are somewhat tangential and do not fully explore the 'social' and 'practical' problems mentioned in the prompt. The position is clear, but the arguments lack depth and logical progression. The essay tends to repeat the same points about communication difficulties rather than expanding on the broader implications of living in a foreign-speaking country. To improve, you should focus on developing specific, relevant examples that directly support your main arguments.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which is a positive feature. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate (e.g., 'To commence with', 'To exemplify'). The progression of ideas is sometimes disjointed, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the flow of the argument. While there is an attempt at paragraphing, the internal structure of the paragraphs lacks logical flow, as sentences often feel like a list of points rather than a cohesive argument. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each sentence builds upon the previous one would significantly enhance the coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. There are frequent errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'involving' instead of 'evolving', 'esey' for 'easy', 'multipale' for 'multiple', and 'villagiyan' for 'villagers'. These errors, combined with the limited range of vocabulary, make the writing feel basic. The student struggles to use precise terminology related to the topic, relying on simple phrases like 'not a matter of jock' (joke) and 'not live their life easily'. To reach a higher band, you need to expand your vocabulary to include more academic and topic-specific terms and focus on accurate spelling and collocation.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The grammatical range is very limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences with frequent errors. There are significant issues with subject-verb agreement, article usage, and sentence structure (e.g., 'speak other language for people is not esey', 'they not live life proper way'). Complex structures are attempted but are almost always faulty, which hinders clarity. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. The frequency of these errors is high enough to cause some difficulty for the reader. Focusing on basic sentence construction and ensuring correct verb forms and word order is essential for improvement.
