Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 165 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas, which remain superficial and fragmented. While the prompt asks for an opinion on whether living in a foreign country causes social and practical problems, the response lacks a clear, consistent position. The arguments are presented as a list of points rather than a cohesive essay, and the lack of development means the task is only partially addressed. To improve, you must expand on your points with specific examples and ensure you meet the length requirement to allow for full exploration of the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The essay lacks a logical structure. It is composed of disconnected sentences and short, fragmented paragraphs that do not flow into one another. There is a lack of cohesive devices; for example, the transition between the introduction and the body paragraphs is abrupt, and the use of 'however' is misused as it does not logically contrast with the preceding point. The ideas are not sequenced in a way that guides the reader through an argument. To improve, you should use clear paragraphing (introduction, body, conclusion) and transition words like 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'in addition' to link your ideas together.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, which limits the ability to convey complex ideas. There are frequent spelling errors, such as 'forigen', 'germmany', 'filland', and 'accademy'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient for an academic task, relying on simple, everyday words. There is little evidence of an attempt to use less common or topic-specific vocabulary. To improve, focus on learning synonyms for common words and practice the correct spelling of key terms related to the topic, such as 'language barrier', 'integration', and 'communication difficulties'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede clarity. There are issues with sentence structure, such as 'people not pay to accademy fees and not decided to learn who country language', which is difficult to parse. Punctuation is inconsistent, and there is a lack of complex sentence structures. Most sentences are simple and contain errors in subject-verb agreement and word order. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, including the correct use of articles, prepositions, and verb tenses, before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
