Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by acknowledging both social and practical problems, and provides a clear, albeit partially developed, position. You have identified relevant issues like social isolation and employment difficulties, and offered solutions such as language classes and technology. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat superficial. For example, the mention of 'technological devices' is a good point, but it could be expanded with more specific examples of how these tools bridge cultural gaps beyond just translation. To reach a higher band, ensure that your arguments are fully extended with more nuanced reasoning rather than just listing points.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'On other hand', and 'In conclusion' to signal shifts in your writing. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or grammatically incorrect, such as 'In addition to, new technological devices...'. Additionally, there are instances where the flow between sentences is slightly disjointed, particularly in the second paragraph where the transition between social isolation and job-seeking is abrupt. Improving the variety and accuracy of your linking words will enhance the overall flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'non-native language', 'opportunities', and 'technological devices'. However, there are frequent errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'dificulties', 'neaighbour', 'strugals', and 'conviniant'. Some phrases are also unnatural, such as 'lively transcribe' (likely meaning 'live' or 'real-time') and 'language gape'. While your meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors and the limited range of sophisticated vocabulary prevent a higher score. Focus on learning the correct spelling of common academic words and practicing collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('can leads to', 'apps are introduces'), missing articles, and incorrect verb forms ('can not be participate', 'person who looking for'). While you attempt some complex structures, they are often faulty, which can occasionally impede the reader's understanding. To improve, you should focus on mastering basic sentence construction, particularly the use of auxiliary verbs and consistent tense usage, before attempting more complex grammatical forms.
