Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is often agued that living in a country where people speak a foreign language can lead to significant social and everyday difficulties. while some people disagree with this view,I strongly agree with it because non native languqage should learn people who are living in that country.

The primary reason for my position is a second language helps to communicate with local peoples. This is largely because whenever we speak with that language so it creates positive impression in the front of that people , who lived there. For instance, Peolple who cannot speak the local language may experience social isolation. Therefore, it is reasonable argued that learning the local language helps newcomers build social connections.Additionally, people may not struggle to access essential services such as health care and banking,if they know language so people can communicate easily.

Another important reason is that poor language skills can create various day-to-day difficulties. This means that it creates communication difficulties. For instance, language proficienccy enables people to adapt more easily to a new environment. Therefore, it is reasonable agrue that foreign language creates a communication barrier.Furthermoreiif anyone want to do job then it easily to find job.,

In conclusion,i firmly believe that non native language should learn people who are l,,iving in that country because language helps to communicate people easily and another reason is that it feels not lonely if u know the lanuage . Although not speak a foreign language may be valid to some extent,it does not outweigh the benefits of llearn a non native language.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by acknowledging both social and practical problems. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention social isolation and access to services, the arguments are repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the point about 'job' is mentioned briefly at the end of the second body paragraph without any supporting detail. The position is clear, but the supporting arguments are somewhat superficial and rely on generalisations. To improve, you should aim to provide more specific examples or elaborate on the consequences of these problems to fully develop your ideas.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the flow between and within sentences is often mechanical. You use basic cohesive devices like 'Additionally' and 'Therefore', but they are sometimes used incorrectly or in a way that makes the logic feel forced. For example, the transition 'whenever we speak with that language so it creates' is grammatically awkward and disrupts the flow. Referencing is also inconsistent, making it difficult for the reader to follow the progression of your argument. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring clear topic sentences would significantly enhance coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. You frequently use simple terms like 'good', 'easy', and 'people'. There are also several spelling errors, such as 'agued', 'languqage', and 'proficienccy', which distract the reader. While you attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'social isolation' and 'communication barrier', the overall range is narrow. To reach a higher band, you need to demonstrate a wider range of vocabulary, including less common collocations and more precise academic terminology, while also ensuring accuracy in spelling and word choice.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'non native languqage should learn people'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or run-on, such as 'if anyone want to do job then it easily to find job'. While you attempt some complex structures, they are often inaccurate. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring correct verb forms, and proofreading for punctuation errors. Reducing the frequency of these errors is essential for achieving a higher score.
