Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is an undeniable fact that the use of foreign language is increasing in today's contemporary epoch. Many people believe that living in a country where we have to use foreign language can cause difficulties in daily routine. I believe that speaking another language can not cause such serious problem.
In this modern era, many people move to foreign countries for their studies or for work, there they need to speak that particular language to communicate with others. There are many institution which gives foreign language lectures, so that people do not face difficulties when they move to abroad. As a result, the person can have an idea how to communicate with other in a foreign language. Learning a new language would be difficult for an individual in starting but after regular practice they can easily have a good conversation in the particular language with others. Having knowledge of a new language is beneficial in many ways, particularly in term of interacting with other and employment opportunities.
Young people can adapt a new language easily but some older people might face difficulties to adjust the new language in daily routine. Sometime a new language helps a person to interact with people and understand multicultural communities. Moreover, technology plays an important role to make things easy, many translating apps help people to interact with others. In addition, knowledge of new language is useful during international business trips, particularly when the person is familiar with the spoken language of the country.
To conclude, learning a foreign is beneficial in many ways; I believe that it do not cause social problems as we have the facility of many advanced translating apps.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against the idea that living in a foreign-language environment causes serious problems. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention language classes, technology, and employment, these points are not fully extended or supported with specific, concrete examples. The argument relies heavily on the existence of translation apps to dismiss the 'serious social problems' mentioned in the prompt, which is a somewhat narrow interpretation. To improve, ensure that each paragraph provides a more detailed explanation of the 'why' and 'how' behind your claims, rather than listing benefits of language learning in general.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices such as 'In this modern era', 'As a result', and 'Moreover' to link ideas. However, the progression between sentences can sometimes feel mechanical or repetitive. For instance, the transition between the second and third paragraphs is slightly abrupt. Additionally, some referencing is a bit vague, such as 'the person' used repeatedly, which makes the writing feel less natural. Improving the variety of your linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would help elevate the flow of your arguments.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'contemporary epoch', 'multicultural communities', and 'employment opportunities'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation. For example, 'adapt a new language' should be 'adapt to a new language' or 'acquire a new language'. 'In term of' should be 'in terms of'. The vocabulary is generally functional but lacks the precision and sophistication required for higher bands. To improve, focus on learning collocations (words that naturally go together) and using more precise academic vocabulary to express your ideas more clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'there they need to speak' (comma splice), 'many institution which gives' (subject-verb agreement error: 'institutions which give'), 'move to abroad' (incorrect preposition usage), and 'it do not cause' (subject-verb agreement: 'it does not cause'). These errors are frequent enough to be noticeable but do not prevent the reader from understanding your message. To reach a higher band, focus on subject-verb agreement, correct preposition usage, and proofreading for minor slips in sentence construction.
