There has been on going debates on living in overseas has various problems. However, a section of society deems that those people who are living in other countries, will have to face many critical situations while surviving in totally different country. I partially agree with the given statement because these challenges can be reduced considerably through language education and social support.
To start with, although there are many negative impact on human who are living in different countries apart from their own. Initially, lack of knowledge about other culture and traditions , which leads to social inequality. A good example of these is International students who are migrating towards overseas for their study, have to learn new languages as per the countries requirements as well as have to become more aware of culture to interact with them and reduce social concerns. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt but fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, ending abruptly at 214 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas, as the conclusion is incomplete and the arguments remain under-developed. While you establish a clear position, the supporting points regarding social inequality and language barriers lack sufficient depth or specific examples. To improve, you must ensure all parts of the prompt are fully explored and that you meet the length requirement to allow for a comprehensive discussion and a finished conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is hindered by the incomplete nature of the text. You use some cohesive devices like 'To start with', 'On the contrary', and 'Moreover', but their usage is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate in context. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'A good example of these is International students...', where the pronoun reference does not align well with the preceding noun phrase. Improving the logical flow between sentences and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, fully developed central idea will help improve your score in this criterion.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You use some relevant terms like 'social inequality' and 'pragmatic skills', but there are instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'on going debates on living in overseas' (should be 'living overseas') and 'negative impact on human' (should be 'negative impacts on people'). To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and avoiding repetitive or grammatically incorrect phrasing. Expanding your range of academic vocabulary will also help convey your ideas more effectively.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'there are many negative impact on human who are living' (subject-verb agreement and pluralisation issues) and 'Government can take step' (missing article). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma placement. While you attempt complex sentences, the control over them is limited. Focusing on basic sentence accuracy, such as subject-verb agreement, article usage, and correct pluralisation, will provide a stronger foundation before you move on to more complex grammatical structures.
