Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against the statement. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention communication and career opportunities, the arguments lack depth and specific, well-explained examples. The prompt asks about 'social' and 'practical' problems, but your response focuses almost exclusively on the benefits of language learning rather than directly refuting the specific social or practical challenges mentioned in the prompt. To improve, ensure you directly address the 'social problems' aspect, such as isolation or cultural barriers, and provide more detailed, logical explanations for your points.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and you use basic cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'In addition' to guide the reader. However, the flow is sometimes mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'It will be convenient for a resident to speak easily', where the antecedent is ambiguous. Paragraphing is present, but the transition between ideas could be smoother. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of cohesive devices and ensure that each sentence logically follows the previous one without relying on repetitive structures.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it is quite repetitive and lacks precision. You use basic terms like 'good', 'important', and 'discuss' repeatedly. There are also several word-choice errors, such as 'lethal society issues' (likely meaning 'serious social issues') and 'abroad language' (should be 'foreign language'). Some collocations are unnatural, such as 'massive wages'. To improve, try to incorporate more academic vocabulary and ensure you are using words in their correct context. Expanding your range of synonyms will help you avoid repeating the same basic words throughout the essay.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity, such as 'an individuals are spending', 'It may also leads to', and 'if person have'. Subject-verb agreement and article usage (a/an/the) are inconsistent throughout the text. While the meaning is generally understandable, these persistent errors prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, particularly with pluralization and verb forms, to ensure your writing is more polished and professional.
