Student answer (Band 5.0)

Living in a country is a great problem where you have to speak a foreign language. It can cause serious social problems, as well as practical problems. This is the most common seen that when people goes in forign countryes they mainly face soo many problms. like homesikness find correct job to work, maintaning there budgets and good partners to live with.

I partly agree with the statement, as the peoples suffer from many problems such as if a person is going out rom there own ountry the have there goles to fullfil. they have to mantain there schodule to furform there activies such as they have to work and study at a same time thats makes there persnolity so limited as they have to focuss own there own ,that showes the effect on there social life.

As it comes to practical problems, they have to pay there rant and send money to there families which is there priority to complite, for that they have to work over time.these situation cause the diffeculties in there life. they have to live far away from there loveonce for that the crave for can cause homesicknes. That make there practical problems more hard to fulfill.

On other hand, thats makes there status good also at there home due to the mone send by them it elp them and threr families financly but it has an drawback point they have to also suffer the lonelyness whish is created by dstence between and they also can not celebrate the event and functions with there families.

It gaive a great opption to upgrade there status as one of my friend has gone to forgen he has a good master degree from there and got a good joob over there but he always crave for home.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both social and practical problems associated with living in a foreign-speaking country. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you provide some examples, such as homesickness and financial pressure, the arguments are somewhat repetitive and lack depth. The position is clear, but the explanation of how these problems specifically relate to the language barrier is often vague. To improve, ensure that each paragraph focuses on a distinct aspect of the prompt and provides more detailed, logical support for your claims rather than listing general difficulties.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. Transitions between ideas are often mechanical or missing, making the flow disjointed. For example, the shift from practical problems to the benefits of working abroad in the fourth paragraph is abrupt. Cohesive devices are used, but they are often inaccurate or repetitive (e.g., 'as it comes to', 'on other hand'). Referencing is sometimes unclear, which forces the reader to work harder to follow your train of thought. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly enhance the structure.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often inaccurate, which occasionally impedes communication. There are frequent spelling errors (e.g., 'forign', 'countryes', 'problms', 'homesikness', 'maintaning', 'schodule', 'furform', 'persnolity', 'loveonce', 'dstence'). The range of vocabulary is basic, and there is a lack of precision in word choice. You rely on simple, repetitive language to express complex ideas. To reach a higher band, you need to focus on accurate spelling and expanding your range of vocabulary to include more academic collocations and topic-specific terminology related to migration and social adaptation.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'people goes', 'peoples suffer'), incorrect verb forms, and missing articles. Sentence structures are often simple or contain errors when you attempt more complex constructions. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with many run-on sentences and missing commas. These errors are frequent and sometimes cause difficulty for the reader. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring subject-verb agreement, and proofreading for common errors like incorrect verb tenses before submitting your work.
