Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by acknowledging both social and practical problems, and it takes a clear position. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you provide examples like visiting a doctor or making friends, the explanation remains quite basic. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the 'why' and 'how' of these problems with more depth and nuance. For instance, instead of just stating that you cannot explain pain to a doctor, you could discuss the potential health risks or the psychological impact of social isolation in a foreign environment. The conclusion is a bit repetitive and lacks a summary of the main points.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is very limited and often mechanical. There is a lack of linking words to connect ideas within and between sentences (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in addition'). The flow is somewhat choppy, and the transition between the problems and the solutions is abrupt. Improving the use of transition signals and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly improve the logical progression of your argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive. You frequently use simple words like 'problems', 'talk', and 'learn'. There is little evidence of less common lexical items or idiomatic expressions. While the meaning is generally clear, the range is insufficient to express complex ideas with precision. To improve, you should aim to incorporate more academic vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'integration', 'linguistic barriers', 'social exclusion', or 'proficiency'. Additionally, there are several punctuation and capitalization errors that detract from the overall quality of the writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. There are frequent grammatical errors, including missing articles (e.g., 'seeing doctor'), incorrect verb forms, and run-on sentences. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with spaces missing before commas and periods. While the meaning is usually understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the text from reaching a higher band. You should focus on mastering subject-verb agreement, proper sentence punctuation, and attempting a wider variety of complex sentence structures, such as using relative clauses or conditional sentences.
