Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you state your position clearly in the introduction, the arguments provided are underdeveloped and lack specific examples or logical depth. The essay touches upon the prompt but does not fully explore the 'social' versus 'practical' problems mentioned in the task. To improve, you must expand your body paragraphs with detailed explanations and concrete examples to support your claims. The conclusion is also quite brief and does not effectively summarize the main points discussed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression of ideas is often unclear. While you use basic cohesive devices like 'On the one hand' and 'In conclusion', the transitions between sentences are frequently disjointed, making it difficult for the reader to follow your argument. For example, the second paragraph jumps between ideas about education and general struggles without a clear link. Additionally, the referencing is sometimes confusing, such as the phrase 'include me most of the time face to practical problem' in the conclusion, which lacks grammatical and logical cohesion.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. You frequently use basic words like 'problem', 'people', and 'study', which restricts your ability to express complex ideas. There are also several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'covey the experience' and 'day by day survey', which impede clarity. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using a wider range of topic-specific vocabulary related to migration, language barriers, and social integration, and ensure that words are used in their correct collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often affect the clarity of your message. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement, article usage, and sentence structure. For instance, 'Some people ,living in a country where you have to speak a foreign language can cause serious problem' is a fragmented and grammatically incorrect sentence. You rely heavily on simple sentence structures, and attempts at more complex sentences often result in errors. Improving your control over basic grammar, such as verb tenses and pluralization, is essential for better communication.
