Student answer (Band 5.5)
Now a days alot of people move to abroad for a better future face alot of problems reagrading the language of that particular country. Communicating in another language that is spoken by the locals of that country can create social and practical probelms and I totally agree with that statement.
firstly, If we talk about one of the main reasons is a communication gap. To survive in a new environment among new people, a person should know how to communicate properly. If the locals speak a different language then what a foreign speaks, conveying your message becomes harder. for instance, if I move to a country where french is the native language and I get in any medical emergency it would be difficult for me to communicate them my problem only because I speak English. for that I've to take an assitance from a personnel who is fluent in both english and french to convey my health problem to them.
Moreover, if we talk about other reason rather than a communication gap, to survive in a new society is to properly understand the rules of that society. As I said about rules I meant by the local rules or directions alongside roads. for example, if I know the language i can easily read about the directions on the signboards mentioned alongside road, but less understanding can make me overlook an important sign of the traffic rules or the direction mentioned at road.
To conclude, communication gap and understanding of the rules is the most important aspects to live a better life in a society and I agree that speaking or understanding foreign language can cause hindrances in that.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. You have identified two main areas—communication gaps in emergencies and the inability to navigate local rules—which are relevant to the task. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. The examples provided, such as the medical emergency or reading road signs, are practical but could be expanded with more depth or nuance to reach a higher band. The conclusion is brief and merely restates the introduction rather than synthesizing the arguments. To improve, ensure that each body paragraph fully explores the implications of your points rather than just stating them.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use basic cohesive devices like 'firstly', 'moreover', and 'to conclude' to link your points. However, the flow is occasionally hindered by mechanical phrasing and some awkward transitions. For instance, the sentence 'As I said about rules I meant by the local rules' is repetitive and disrupts the flow. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of cohesive devices and ensure that referencing (e.g., pronouns and determiners) is used more precisely to connect sentences smoothly without needing to repeat the same nouns.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'communication gap', 'native language', and 'hindrances'. However, there are several spelling errors ('alot', 'reagrading', 'probelms', 'assitance') and some word choice issues, such as 'take an assitance from a personnel' (which should be 'seek assistance from a professional'). The range is somewhat limited, and there is a lack of more sophisticated or idiomatic language. To improve, focus on accuracy in spelling and try to incorporate more precise collocations to express your ideas with greater nuance.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but the accuracy is inconsistent. There are frequent errors in articles ('the native language', 'a foreign speaks'), subject-verb agreement, and sentence construction (e.g., 'If we talk about one of the main reasons is...'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with capitalization and comma usage. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to distract the reader. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic grammatical rules, particularly article usage and sentence fragments, and aim to construct more complex sentences with greater control.
