Student answer (Band 5.5)
In todays increasingly globalized world many individuals move to other countries where the language is different due to which they face major difficulties in social as well as practical life . In this essay we will discuss some of the most common issue that arrives because of language barrier .
Living in country where the language is different is quite hectic. People face lot of difficulties even in making friends , it make them feel socially isolated because even in a group of majority they still feel lonely and excluded. For instance, In universities where some students who are migrated from some other country feels extremely hesitate to have a normal conversation with their fellows even they lack confidences in asking some question to their teacher which they were unable to get.
From practical perspective , either its about health or work . Their are major hurdles for a foreigner. Sometimes when people feel sick they were unable to tell the doctor about their symptoms properly. Some individuals find less job opportunities then others who are the residents just by reason of language barrier as employees want their worker to be more fluent and easy with the clients or customers they have to deal with.
In my opinion to avoid such essential problem as well as practical problems it is better to work on improving language skill before moving to some other country where you face language barrier.
In conclusion both perspectives have reasonable argument , so I would say on the one hand people first learn some language skills and then move and if due to some reasons they move without getting enough language skills the citizens should help them to learn as well as letting them know about how things work in their country.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both social and practical problems associated with living in a foreign country. The position is clear, and the ideas are relevant. However, the development is somewhat limited; for instance, the explanation of social isolation in universities is a good start but could be expanded with more specific detail or a more nuanced argument. The conclusion is slightly contradictory, as it shifts from the initial stance of 'improving language skills' to suggesting that citizens should assist newcomers, which weakens the overall coherence of the argument. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is fully explored and that the conclusion aligns consistently with the main body paragraphs.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'For instance, In universities' and 'From practical perspective'. The referencing is occasionally unclear, and the transition between the body paragraphs and the conclusion could be smoother. While the paragraphing is appropriate, the internal cohesion within paragraphs could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that sentences flow more naturally into one another.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing the student to communicate their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'globalized' and 'isolated', but there are also instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'some of the most common issue that arrives' (should be 'issues that arise') and 'extremely hesitate' (should be 'extremely hesitant'). Spelling errors, such as 'todays' (missing apostrophe) and 'confidences' (should be 'confidence'), are present. To improve, the student should focus on learning collocations and ensuring word forms are used correctly in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that, while not impeding communication, are noticeable. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('some students... feels', 'Their are major hurdles'), article usage errors ('Living in country'), and tense inconsistencies ('they were unable to tell'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma placement. While the student attempts complex sentences, the control over these structures is inconsistent. Increasing the frequency of error-free sentences and focusing on basic grammatical accuracy, particularly with articles and subject-verb agreement, would significantly improve the score.
