Student answer (Band 5.5)
If we want to go to abroad but we can't have much knowledge about their local language so we have to face many difficulties which can be name as social as well as practical problems. Foreign language may prove much supportive if we want to go overseas and continue our future at their. This essay will discuss both perspectives in detail before giving my own opinion.
We have to challenge many major social problems in a country where we don't know about their local language,we feel hesitation when we want to communicate with the residents of that country. We can understand the lectures of teachers at their but we can't easily interact with the citizens. We want to live in isolation. If we want to share our problem with the Doctor, Government we can't share it. For instance, If you have serious problem at their you can't tell your problem you can't understand the doctor if you do't know about the language of that overseas country.
The practical problems we have to face their just because of our language barrier is we can't easily be friend with the residents of that country. But if we had to live their for a long time we can easily understand them moreover by spending time with them we can learn a lot of basic knowledge about their language. For instance, one of my companion who don,t about foreign language but he went to Europe country their she felt loneliness because of lack of knowledge about British language.
From my perspective, I am totally agreed on it, We must try to learn about different languages because in this ERA we have to learn about different languages from which we can save our future. Learning languages is difficult but if we can learn them we can easily interact with the people and can save ourselves from various problems. We should have to watch different websites from which we can enhance our language skills
To conclude, learning languages is necessary because in future we can't have life without foreign language. It will be helpful for us in our life ahead meant to be skillfull activity.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing social and practical problems associated with language barriers. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the distinction between 'social' and 'practical' problems is blurred, as both paragraphs focus heavily on communication difficulties. The position is clear, but the arguments lack depth and specific, well-explained examples. The essay structure is slightly confused by the introduction, which mentions discussing 'both perspectives' (implying a balanced view), yet the prompt asks for the extent of agreement. The conclusion is also somewhat vague regarding the specific social and practical problems mentioned earlier.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression is often hindered by awkward phrasing and repetitive sentence structures. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'For instance' and 'Moreover', but they are sometimes applied mechanically or incorrectly (e.g., 'If we want to go to abroad...'). Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the use of 'their' instead of 'there' or 'abroad', which confuses the reader. Paragraphing is present, but the internal flow of ideas within paragraphs is disjointed, making it difficult to follow the argument's development smoothly.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and often imprecise. There is frequent misuse of basic terms, such as 'at their' instead of 'there' or 'abroad', and 'companion' used in a context where 'friend' or 'acquaintance' would be more appropriate. The phrase 'British language' is inaccurate, as the language is English. While the student attempts to use topic-related vocabulary like 'language barrier' and 'interact', the overall range is narrow and insufficient for a higher band. Errors in word choice and collocation are frequent and occasionally impede the clarity of the message.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors that affect readability. There are persistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'one of my companion who don,t'), incorrect preposition usage, and sentence fragments. Complex sentence structures are attempted but are often faulty, leading to confusion. For example, 'If we want to go to abroad but we can't have much knowledge...' is grammatically incorrect. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with comma splices occurring throughout the text. While the meaning is generally discernible, the lack of control over basic grammatical structures is a significant weakness.
