Student answer (Band 5.5)

Living in a country where you have to communicate in their national language can affect serious social difficulties, as well as practical issues. Overall, I agree with above statement by giving my reasons given below.

Turning into the details, Firstly, the main problem is communication difficulties which cause main problem while when people visit to doctor or talk to teachers. So, that's why communication is biggest problem because we need daily communication with different field of people. On the other, social isolation is also an problem because it will make difficulty in making friends and participating in society without known or speak their language which cause more problems make people feels alone while living in alot of people without know to speak their language.

In addition, employment or education problems are also issue because it create difficulties in finding jobs, understanding instructions and studying which make people jobless and difficult to study. By contrast, There is also an solution for all of above problems by learning the language because people can learn the language to make their lives easier they can easily communicate with people and also involve in social activities and also studying and find jobs easily.

To conclude the conclusion, I already discuss above that I largely agree that living in a country where a foreign language is spoken can create serious social and practical problems, particularly for people who have limited language skills. From my perspective, People solve this issue by just learn language so it make easier for them to live in foreign country.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by acknowledging both social and practical problems. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention doctors, teachers, and employment, these points are not fully extended or supported with specific examples or logical depth. The position is clear, but the explanation remains somewhat repetitive, particularly regarding the solution of learning the language. To reach a higher band, you should aim to provide more detailed illustrations of how these problems manifest in daily life and why they are considered 'serious' beyond just stating that they cause difficulties.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the progression of ideas is often mechanical. You use basic cohesive devices like 'Firstly' and 'In addition', but the transitions between sentences are sometimes abrupt or confusing, such as 'Turning into the details' or 'To conclude the conclusion'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow of the argument is hindered by repetitive phrasing. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each sentence logically follows the previous one to create a smoother narrative.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on simple, repetitive words like 'problem', 'difficult', and 'easy'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'affect serious social difficulties' (instead of 'cause') and 'different field of people'. To improve, you should move beyond basic vocabulary and attempt to use more precise, academic collocations that demonstrate a better grasp of English nuance and style.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'without known or speak their language', 'make people feels alone', and 'by just learn language'. Subject-verb agreement and preposition usage are inconsistent throughout the text. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic sentence construction prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on mastering basic sentence patterns and proofreading for subject-verb agreement.
