Student answer (Band 6.0)
Living abroad can be very hectic because of the language barrier and social differences. Most of the people argue that spending life in any foreign country creates significant social problems; I contend with this narrative.
Nowadays, a lot of the global community prefer to move abroad in order to have a better lifestyle and to avail good opportunities. Most of the masses have to learn a foreign language in order to survive in any country abroad, especially countries in Europe and the Gulf region. In today's era, a huge number of students prefer to study abroad in order to achieve better opportunities so that they can settle and have a better lifestyle, but the major issue arises when they have to interact with the natives. First of all, there will always be a social issue arises which includes basic conversation and interaction. Moreover, they have to face some practical implications during their stay, as they will always be expected to know about the native language in job interviews. These sorts of issues are very common in European countries such as France, Germany, Italy, etc. Specifically in Germany, you have to educate yourself with basic knowledge of German in order to conduct a minor conversation with the residents and to land a high-paying job. These are some of the significant problems that are faced by non-native people.
In conclusion, knowledge of any sort of language plays a vital role in order to operate with better precision in the society, but there will always be social and cultural differences between masses because of this language barrier.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the social and practical implications of living in a foreign country. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention that you 'contend with this narrative,' your position remains slightly ambiguous throughout the essay, as you spend more time validating the problems than arguing against them. To reach a higher band, ensure that your main arguments are clearly linked to your central position and provide more detailed examples or explanations for each point. The conclusion is a bit abrupt and does not fully synthesize the arguments presented in the body paragraphs.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'First of all,' 'Moreover,' and 'In conclusion' to link your points. However, the flow between sentences can feel a bit mechanical, and some transitions are repetitive. For instance, the phrase 'in order to' is used multiple times in close proximity, which affects the natural flow of the text. Improving the variety of your linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'implications,' 'native,' and 'precision.' However, there are instances of slightly unnatural collocations or word choices, such as 'most of the masses' or 'educate yourself with basic knowledge.' These do not impede communication, but they prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. To improve, focus on learning more precise collocations and using less common vocabulary in a more natural, context-appropriate way. Avoid repeating the same phrases, such as 'better lifestyle' and 'better opportunities,' which appear multiple times.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are several grammatical errors, such as 'there will always be a social issue arises' (should be 'a social issue will always arise') and 'knowledge of any sort of language plays a vital role in order to operate with better precision in the society' (the use of 'the' before 'society' is unnecessary here). These errors are frequent but do not prevent the reader from understanding your meaning. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles.
