Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 193 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas, as the arguments remain underdeveloped and lack sufficient supporting examples. While you clearly state your position in the introduction and conclusion, the body paragraphs are too brief to fully explore the social and practical implications mentioned in the prompt. To improve, you must expand on your points with specific, illustrative examples rather than just listing potential problems. The conclusion also contains a confusing sentence regarding 'living in your country', which detracts from the clarity of your overall argument.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the flow is frequently interrupted by grammatical errors and awkward phrasing. While you use some cohesive devices like 'On a practical level' and 'On the other hand', the internal logic within the third paragraph is fragmented. For instance, the sentence 'can make cultural friction expressing emotions humor, personal values, requires without it people can face difficulties' is incoherent and lacks proper transition or structure. To achieve a higher band, ensure that each sentence follows logically from the previous one and that your paragraphs are unified around a single, well-developed central idea.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for a higher score. You use some appropriate terms like 'logistical hurdles', 'meaningful social integration', and 'formidable challenges'. However, there are instances of imprecise word choice and awkward phrasing, such as 'career program' (likely meaning 'career progression') and 'foreign speaking' (which should be 'foreign-speaking country'). The vocabulary is somewhat repetitive, and there is a lack of sophisticated collocations or idiomatic expressions that would demonstrate a more flexible command of the language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but accuracy is inconsistent. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement, such as 'inability to communicate... make' (should be 'makes') and 'languages barrier' (should be 'language barriers'). Punctuation is also problematic, with missing commas and run-on sentences that impede readability. Furthermore, the final paragraph contains a significant grammatical breakdown: 'am agree with the statement living in your country and u have to know the different foreign language.' These errors are frequent enough to cause some difficulty for the reader and prevent the text from reaching a higher band.
