Living in a country where you have to speak a foreign language can cause serious social problems, as well as practical problems.

To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Student answer (Band 5.5)

In the modern era, living in a nation where people are required to speak a foreign language can cause several issue like social problems as well as practical problems. I disagree with this point because learning a foreign language can help people communicate effictively and adapt to a new environment.

One major social problems caused by a foreign language is difficulty in communicating with local people. Newcomers may find it difficult to express their opinions, Understand jokes or partcipants in social activities. As a result, they may feel uncomfortable and alone and could not make friend easily. For instance, international students who went to germany but not knowing the german language may face major obstacle while taking with classmates or local in markets. Moreover, while visiting at doctor, medical or in supermarkets native language feels so faster and difficulties to crack at first. But nowdays with help technology people can translate language and record voice node also possible or practice with help online lecture or offline class one can easily learn language from basic to advanced.

On the other hand, There are several practical problem like people in foregin countries are not aware about Public transport or public helpdesk so that they could not able to talk with local people due to lack of confident and fluency towards language but with help of technology translator of language can translate easily this benfinical for elder people mostly.

In conclusion, Although, I disagree with this point because living in foregin countries people can easily able to learn new language and developed there fluency and confident while talking native speakers or with local people which is important to learn foregin as new skill.
