IELTS Writing Task 2 question

Living in a country where you have to speak a foreign language can cause serious social problems, as well as practical problems.

To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Student answer (Band 5.0)

Starting the discussion firstly it involves the basic use of language in a country which has its own culture and tradition and same as language that makes it different from the other countries. As the country has its own language but for interacting and making business deals and import and export purpose the country has to use the national language of that country.

Secondly the country also use the international or foreign language. It has the great impact on the relationship of both countries. However the use of national language may cause great problems for the local citizens of the country. Like wise it can become a social or practical issue . As the commerce between two countries is only possible by the way of communicatiion. And this communication is only possible by the exchange of the words.But the local people are the main cause which are directly or indirectly related to the trade. They are the workers and builders of the trade.

Thirdly,main problem of using foreign language is that everyone is not use to it . It requires a lot of practise and need a lot of time which everyone shouldn't get to. The main reason is that which causes great difficulties is that learning foreign language is not everyone's cup of tea. You are use to speak your national language and foreign language lead to great difficulties.

For instance I have been living in Pakistan and I want to go abroad for higher studies so I have to learn the foreign language of the state where I want to go. I am an Urdu speaking person and listening,speaking and writing it from my childhood. But the English language is causing difficulty for me to learn and speak it. As I am preparing for the IELTS which is giving me a tough time to learn English.
