IELTS Writing Task 2 question
Living in a country where you have to speak a foreign language can cause serious social problems, as well as practical problems.
To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
There are around 7,160 known languages spoken in the world today. Staying in a nation where you have to communicate in a Non-native language can lead to complex social conflict,and a practical issue.I completely agree with this notion as it may lead serious issues in the job place,and it affects the relationship with native people.
To begin with, Lack of knowlegde on foriegn language leads to unemployment of a person,where a person wants to do part-time or full-time role in a country he or she should know the language widely spoken in the country.This is essential for communicating with people in the country. Most of the country's around the globe speak different langauges if your are not able to communicate with people in their langauge it may lead to misunderstanding, and may price your job.Your survival in the country becomes difficult,for native speakers it easy to do commutate with others so they can land oppourtunities easily.For an instance, an international student willing to study in germany he should know german language orelse he will end not getting any parttimes to work.Hence, his living expences managing becomes harder.
furthuremore, It makes a barrier between people to share emotions.If you are in any trouble like if you needed immediate medications you need to express them which type of medicine your seeking,but they would not understand which tonic you have mentioning,yet it may lead to serious issue. Any trouble which caused in the country will mostly ebecause of language-barrier. For an example, if a crime happens in your community if you are an vitness the officers ask you the deatils of crime with lack of fluency in language if you end up giving an incorrect information could lead to jail. hence, learning language is the most essential part while moving to abroad.
In conclusion, I completely acoord that inadequate with native language results to serious conflict's in work palce and personal life.
