IELTS Writing Task 2 question
Living in a country where you have to speak a foreign language can cause serious social problems, as well as practical problems.
To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
It is believed by some people that country where they have to speak foreign language can cause social problems and aslo practical problems. I completely agree with this statement. This essay will discuss and explain why i agree with this.
If people start speak in foreign language it arise a lot of social problems in the following ways first of all, it is very difficult for everyone to understand foreign language and some people think if they can start speak other language they break down from their own community and religion in the result people start protests against foreign language and also provide criticism to foriegn language with this people of foreign country become against to the country where their language get cricism to their own language. Furthermore, as a result these type of debates goes up to international level which cause harm to relationship between two countries even also a reason of war. Secondly, there are a lot of words which have meaning only in their own language so it is difficult to translate into other language.
On the other hand speaking foreign language also has several practical problems. Firstly, a large number of individuals unable to speak and understand in foreign language so it effect economy very badly because one people do not understand other so it is very hard to deal such as if one shopkeeper speak in understable language and another in foreign most of the people purchase things from that shop who speak local language. So thats why speaking foreign language have a lot of drawbacks.
In conclusion, speaking foreign language arised a lot of social and practical problems which effect economy very badly and rised hate in individuals regarding foreigners.
