Student answer (Band 5.0)
In a country, different people speaking foreign languages can cause crucial social problems, as well as practical problems. I totally agree with the statement.
Most of the people of the country only know their home language. It is too much difficult for them to understand foreign language when they are listening to somebody, and its is not practical approach to speak another language while communicate with anyone. I believe that people should speak same language, and it is more practical for listener to understands the point in a better way.
Sometimes when two persons from different backgrounds talks with eachother in different foreign languages, they are unable to explain their point of views, due to their level of intelligence on language and communication will become too serious due to which results social issues.
However, i completely agree with the statement that speaking different languages can cause major social and political problems as well as practical problems. People should talk in the language of a country in which they are currently living. its better to discuss ideas, point to views, and sharing information in a common language of a country so everyone can understand easily. Moreover, communication skills plays an important role in every aspect of life. furthermore in traveling, and business tours, tourist should first learn the language of a country in which they plan to visit its beneficial for both to communicate in a efficient way. people should use language which is appropriate and easy for listener to understand.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the task partially, presenting a clear position that foreign languages cause social and practical problems. However, the ideas remain limited and under-developed throughout the essay. For instance, the mention of 'social issues' and 'political problems' is introduced without sufficient explanation or specific examples to support these claims. The arguments tend to repeat the same basic point regarding the necessity of a common language, as seen when the writer reiterates that 'people should talk in the language of a country in which they are currently living.' To reach a higher level, the writer needs to extend their ideas with more detailed explanations and relevant examples from their own knowledge.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response shows some organization with basic paragraphing, but there is no clear overall progression of ideas from one paragraph to the next. Cohesive devices are used awkwardly or inaccurately, such as the abrupt transition 'moreover in traveling, and business tours, tourist should first learn...' which disrupts the flow of information. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, making it hard to follow the exact logical connection between sentences. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion is mechanical and repetitive. To improve, the writer should use a wider variety of appropriate cohesive devices and ensure that each paragraph builds logically upon the previous one with a clear thematic progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate to convey the basic message. There are noticeable lexical errors and awkward word choices that may cause some difficulty for the reader, such as 'its is not practical approach' and 'point to views' instead of 'points of view'. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, like 'efficient way' and 'communication skills', but struggles with accurate collocations and word forms, writing 'tourist' instead of the plural 'tourists'. To achieve a higher band, the writer must expand their vocabulary range, use less common lexical items with greater precision, and eliminate basic word-choice and spelling errors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response displays a very limited range of structures, relying mostly on simple sentences, and attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty. There are frequent grammatical errors that can cause difficulty for the reader, including missing articles ('It is too much difficult for them to understand foreign language'), incorrect verb forms ('two persons... talks with eachother'), and punctuation issues, such as lowercase letters at the beginning of sentences ('its better', 'furthermore'). Subject-verb agreement and prepositions also show persistent inaccuracies, as seen in 'communication skills plays'. To progress, the writer needs to demonstrate a greater variety of complex grammatical structures and improve overall sentence accuracy.
