Student answer (Band 6.0)
Living in a foreign country where people have to speak different languages certainly create difficult issues. Although, I agree that communication barrier may raise social as well as practical concerns. I believe that these circumstances can be overcome by sufficient training and time.
The major reason behind this phenomenon is that communication becomes difficult in everyday situations. Individuals who are not fluent in local language may struggle to understand information such as instructions from doctors, announcements at public places and many more informative concepts especially for new migrants. For example, a newcomer who do not know about the native language of the country may face difficulty to share their problem with doctors or even cannot able to understand their employer at workplace.
Apart from these, due to language barrier members of society are not able to take part in social activities because they may hesitate to talk with native speakers or local residents. Consequently, they may feel isolated or homesick resulting in aggressive and frustrated behaviour. Additionally, cultural differences combined with language barriers can sometimes cause controversial issues between people from diverse backgrounds.
However, I do not believe that these concerns are permanent. Learning about local languages is one of the effective way to overcome this problem. Beside these, taking coaching from language learning centers, regular communication with native speakers or use of language applications on mobile phones are another approaches to heal this concern. Furthermore, living in foreign country may offers opportunities to bolster local language by talking with local people.
To sum up, there are several social and practical impacts for living in a country where humans have to speak native language. Nevertheless, I opine that these causes can be overcome by learning language, speaking regularly and using smartphone applications.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the task and presents a clear overall position regarding the impacts of living in a foreign language environment. The student presents relevant ideas, such as practical difficulties in everyday situations and social isolation, and supports them with examples like communicating with doctors or workplaces. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others, and certain points lean towards generalisation without deep extension, which is characteristic of this level. To reach higher bands, the arguments would need more sustained elaboration and finer nuancing throughout all body paragraphs.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear progression of ideas from practical problems to social concerns and finally to solutions. Paragraphing is used sufficiently, with each paragraph focusing on a distinct central topic. Cohesive devices are employed, such as 'Apart from these', 'However', and 'To sum up', though referencing and cohesion can occasionally feel somewhat mechanical or formulaic. To progress further, the student could integrate cohesive ties more naturally and ensure that referencing between sentences is consistently smooth and unobtrusive.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to communicate their ideas clearly. There are successful attempts to use less common items and phrases, such as 'communication barrier', 'diverse backgrounds', and 'smartphone applications'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice, collocation, and word formation, such as 'informative concepts' instead of information, 'do not know' instead of does not know, and 'heal this concern' instead of resolve this issue. These errors do not impede communication, but they reflect the vocabulary profile typical of this level.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The writer demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing structures like conditional and concessive clauses effectively in parts. There are several grammatical errors present, including subject-verb agreement issues like 'languages certainly create', article omissions such as 'in foreign country', and prepositional errors like 'taking coaching from'. Punctuation and tense control also show occasional slips, such as 'cannot able to understand'. These errors are noticeable but rarely impede communication, aligning well with a profile that features a combination of correct structures and recurring mistakes.
