Student answer (Band 5.0)
Some people have to live in other countries for their studies or work. They have to speak their foreign language in their social and practical life. This can be difficult for them. Living with foreign language, can cause serious practical and social problems.
Some people have to go abroad for their career and some for their education. Every country have their own language. We have to understand their language in every feild of life. Speak foreign language is a very tough at start. If we do some job in other countries, we have to understand the foreign language because without language,we can't do anything. We cannot do any job without learning the language. If we study in foreign university, we have to understand their language otherwise, we can't get our degree. We have to face social problems as well as practical problems just because of language.
From my perspective, people have to learn the language first, then go to some other country. Otherwise, it can create serious social problems in our life. We cannot do any job without understand the language. We cannot communicate with others. It can affect our practical life. We cannot build our future or career in foreign countries without learning the language. It can destroy our social and practical life.We have to learn the foreign language for every kind of job.
In conclusion, I agreed with this point. We have to learn foreign language first. Because language barrier can cause many social and practical issues in our lives.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt regarding whether living in a foreign-language country causes serious social and practical problems, but the development remains limited and repetitive. A position is presented, as seen in statements like 'From my perspective, people have to learn the language first', but the supporting ideas are underdeveloped. Throughout the body paragraphs, the same points are restated with slight variations, such as repeating that people cannot do any job or study without understanding the language. This lack of extended reasoning and specific examples keeps the task response limited. To achieve a higher band, the writer needs to fully develop ideas with detailed explanations and concrete examples rather than relying on generalized repetition.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The text displays some organisation with basic paragraphing and an introduction and conclusion. However, there is a noticeable lack of clear overall progression, as ideas tend to loop back on themselves rather than move forward logically. Cohesive devices are used minimally or repetitively, with excessive reliance on simple conjunctions and repetitive sentence openers. For instance, the constant repetition of phrases like 'We have to' creates a mechanical flow rather than a smooth progression of ideas. Additionally, referencing is occasionally unclear between sentences. To improve in this area, the writer should employ a wider and more accurate range of cohesive devices and ensure that each paragraph introduces distinct, progressively developing points.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task. The writer relies heavily on basic, repetitive words and phrases throughout the essay, such as 'foreign language', 'practical and social problems', and 'understand the language'. There are noticeable errors in word choice, word form, and collocation, such as writing 'every feild of life' instead of 'field', and 'Speak foreign language is a very tough at start' rather than 'Speaking a foreign language is very tough at the start'. These errors and the restricted vocabulary range cause occasional difficulty for the reader. To reach a higher band, the student must incorporate a broader range of vocabulary, including less common lexical items, while ensuring accurate word formation and collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The grammatical structures attempted are largely restricted to simple and basic sentences, with very few successful complex constructions. When complex sentences are attempted, they frequently contain errors, such as missing articles, subject-verb agreement issues like 'Every country have their own language', and incorrect preposition use in patterns like 'without understand the language' instead of 'without understanding'. Frequent grammatical errors are present throughout the text, including punctuation errors and issues with verb forms, which can cause difficulty for the reader. To improve, the writer needs to demonstrate a greater variety of complex grammatical structures and improve overall accuracy by reducing basic grammatical errors.
