Student answer (Band 5.5)
In today's contemporary world, spending time in such a country where you have to speak an international langurage can often create serious social and practical problems. I completely agree with this point of view that social and practical challenges are associated with speaking a foreign languages because the difficulties of cultural understanding, global competitiveness, exchange of ideas and the lack of healthy relationship with local people.
To commence with, On major disadvantage of speaking a foreign language can create obstacle of cultural understanding. To elaborate further, when a person living in such a country where they have not any experience about eh cultural of a particlar country, then often they face the challenges about how to familiar with a new culture. Secondly, speaking an international language without advanced knowledge about the market and language can create global competition, where multiple people comes from different countries, then you have to compete with them as well as you need to adopte yourself with their marketing stratigies. For instance, Many south asian especially Pakistani professionals work in gulf countries without knowledge about their local language, hence they often face challenges of cultural understanding and compete with them in job market.
In the subsequent manner, living in a foreign country and speaking their local language can sometime create difficultes to exchanges ideas among the local and the foreign individuals. In the other words, due to the lack of language understaning level individuals often face chanllenges of communicating with local peoples, hence the ideas between them could not easily exchange. Furthermore, due to the concern about language, people cannot build a healthy relationship with local people of a country. This leads to the separation of social needs and other practical problems. To cite an example, international students in Germany have many difficulties by creating a strong relatio with local german people bacause the lack of german language understanding. Hence, this lead of the social diffrences and practial problems of foreign people currently living in germany.
In conclusion, living in a nation where you require to communicate with a foreign language can obsviously cause serious practical as well as social challenges because of poor relation with local, competition between local and international people. Therefore, I strongly agree that social and practical problems are created by speaking an international language because the difficulties of culture understanding and the lack of ideas exchanges.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task and presents a clear position throughout, agreeing with the given statement about social and practical problems. Relevant ideas are introduced regarding cultural understanding, job market competition, and the exchange of ideas. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others, and certain points lean towards generalisation or lack sufficient depth. For example, the mention of South Asian professionals working in Gulf countries is a relevant real-world example, but the explanation of how lack of language causes competitive disadvantage is somewhat vague and repetitive. To reach a higher level, the writer would need to fully extend and support all main ideas with more precise and thoroughly explained examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt to organise ideas into logical paragraphs, including an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical, and referencing is not always clear. The writer uses standard cohesive phrases like 'To commence with' and 'In conclusion', but internal transitions within paragraphs can be awkward, such as 'In the subsequent manner' and 'In the other words'. Paragraphing is present, but the logical progression within body paragraphs is occasionally disrupted by repetitive phrasing and unclear pronoun referencing. To improve further, the writer should employ a wider and more flexible range of cohesive devices naturally without relying on formulaic transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The writer demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task and attempts less common items such as 'contemporary world', 'competitiveness', and 'strategies'. However, there are noticeable word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors that occasionally impede communication, though meaning can generally be discerned. Examples of lexical inaccuracies include 'langurage', 'eh cultural', 'particlar', 'adopte', 'marketing stratigies', 'understaning', 'chanllenges', and 'bacaxe'. Furthermore, awkward phrasings like 'separation of social needs' and 'difficulties by creating' show a limited control of word formation and collocation. To achieve a higher band, the writer must expand their vocabulary range, improve spelling accuracy, and demonstrate a better grasp of natural word partnerships.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating attempts at subordination and relative clauses, such as 'when a person living in such a country where they have not any experience'. However, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that cause some difficulty for the reader. There are issues with subject-verb agreement and verb forms, such as 'multiple people comes', 'people cannot build', and 'this lead of the social diffrences'. Article usage and prepositional patterns are also problematic, as seen in phrases like 'living in such a country where they have not any experience about eh cultural of a particlar country'. To progress, the writer needs to increase the proportion of error-free sentences and exercise better control over complex grammatical structures and punctuation.
