Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You state a clear position—“I strongly agree”—and include relevant points about difficulty communicating with local people and finding work. However, the response only minimally develops the task: the opening promises to discuss “both sides,” but the benefits paragraph is brief and the main problems are asserted rather than explained with a specific example. The conclusion is cut off, so your final view is not fully restated. The response also does not meet the 250-word minimum: it contains 232 words, and 22 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. To improve, explain how language barriers create particular social or practical consequences and support each point with a concrete example, then complete the conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is a recognisable paragraph structure, with an introduction, a benefits paragraph, a problems paragraph and an attempted conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “On the one hand,” “One the other hand” and “In conclusion” help signal the intended organisation. However, progression is not consistently clear: the introduction says you will discuss both sides and give your opinion at the end, while the position is already stated there, and the final paragraph ends mid-sentence. Linking is also repetitive and sometimes inaccurate, as in “Instead of” and “Secondly” before an unclear point. Use each paragraph to develop one main idea, connect examples directly to that idea, and finish with a complete conclusion.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

Your vocabulary includes relevant topic language such as “foreign language,” “local people,” “conversation,” “jobs” and “business,” so the general subject is usually identifiable. However, the range is basic and repetitive, and frequent spelling and word-choice errors make parts difficult to understand: “globlised,” “benifits,” “pracitical” and “cummunicate” are examples. Some phrases are also unnatural or unclear, including “you are do something different” and “without attention.” Build accuracy with common collocations for this topic, such as “face a language barrier,” “communicate with residents” and “access employment.” Proofread spelling and choose precise words rather than repeating “problems” and “social problems.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt a few longer sentences and use basic structures to express contrast and cause, but sentence forms are limited and errors occur frequently. For example, “I strongly agree with speak a foreign language can cause” needs a grammatical clause after “agree,” while “you are do something different” has an incorrect verb construction. Other examples include “you cannot speak and discuss with local people easily” and “you should not understand whats are someone trying to say,” where clause structure and verb forms obscure the intended meaning. Articles, agreement and punctuation also need attention. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with controlled clauses using “because,” “which” and “when.”
