Student answer (Band 4.5)

In everyday life, most of the people travel to the other countries from their homreland for different purposes and some of them can stay there for a long time.

When anybody stay in other country, so as a member of society they can communicate with surrounding peoples. They can talk and listen to the people to survive better there and to fulfil there needs. If they speak a foreign language and they they know much about this language so it was a big problem for them. Because it is too difficult to speak or listen a foreign language, and without speaking are listening to the surrouding peoples a man cannot survive properly.

I think if a man make struggle to understand some basic skills to speak and listen foreign language so they can suvive their butt not easily they van pay full attention to this language, other vise they cannot comunicate with peoples there, they donnot get work their and are not able to earn their.

Definatiely, I agree with that statement, Living in a country where we have to speak a foreign language can cause many social and practical problem. Here I want to give a common example for this statement, few years ago I went to met my cousins in France, here when we went to the market to bought some usefull things I dont understand the sentences of seller and I think if my cousine is not with so I was not able to bought anything, so I think here my suvival is insane.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You take a clear position in the final paragraph: “I agree with that statement,” and your France market visit is relevant evidence of a practical difficulty. However, the response only minimally develops the task: social problems are mentioned through communication with people, but their effects on relationships or participation in society are not explained, and practical problems receive only brief treatment. The example supports your view, but its relevance is weakened by the unclear phrase “my survival is insane.” The response is also 2 words below the 250-word minimum; the 8 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. Develop both types of problem with specific consequences and explain how your example illustrates them.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is a basic sequence from introducing migration, to discussing communication, to stating your opinion and giving an example. The final paragraph also signals a clear position. However, ideas are not arranged into a clear overall progression: several points about speaking and listening repeat one another, while social and practical problems are not separated or developed in distinct paragraphs. Linking expressions such as “Because,” “other vise,” and “here” are sometimes awkward or unclear, and the long opening paragraph makes it difficult to follow how one idea leads to the next. Use a focused paragraph for each main point, connect examples directly to claims, and make references such as “this statement” and “here” more precise.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use basic vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “communicate,” “foreign language,” “survive,” and “earn,” so the general subject is understandable. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “speak,” “listen,” and “people.” Some inaccurate choices make meaning difficult to interpret: “my survival is insane” does not clearly express the problem you experienced, and “surrounding peoples” is not a natural way to refer to people nearby. Spelling errors such as “homreland,” “surrouding,” and “Definatiely” also reduce clarity. Build a more precise range for social and practical consequences, and check spelling and collocations carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with reasons and examples, but control of sentence structure is very limited. Errors are frequent and sometimes obscure meaning, as in “When anybody stay in other country” and “if a man make struggle.” Verb forms and agreement are often inaccurate, and the sentence beginning “If they speak a foreign language…” contains a confusing sequence of clauses. Punctuation and sentence boundaries also need attention: several ideas run together, while “Because it is too difficult…” is left as a fragment. Practise accurate basic sentence patterns first, then add subordinate clauses, checking subject–verb agreement, tense, articles, and punctuation.
