Student answer (Band 5.0)

It is argued that people living in foreign countries are facing challenges while speaking with locals due to the language barrier. Some people believe that it is not an issue because that mostly countries are english speakers but they don't know of countries like Germany and France. People also thought that friendly local people might help you learn their language but this is not true. I totally agree with the statement given above.

.

One of the main reason of these problem is communication gap between our and other country language. If we are not able to speak that language there will be less interaction with the local people which will lead to decrease in the social exposure. We will find difficulty iin understanding what they are saying and speaking it.It creates a lot of gap between local people and us. Take an example of japanese or chinese who speaks a different language than english and it difficult to understand and speak

Most impotantly people living in foreign countries also have difficulty in developing their nature of doing their work own their own especially people of Pakistan who are totally dependent on their mother for household works like cleaning and ironing clothes. They are also dependent on their fathers for money like students of age 18-22 who are doing all the household work and earning to fulfill there needs alone which they found it difficult in there home country.

In coclusion the problem that most of the people face is having difficulty in speaking that country's language and also in doing household work and earn money to fulfill their needs.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

Your position is clear in the introduction: “I totally agree,” and the response identifies social communication and practical independence as relevant concerns. However, the task is only partly addressed because the practical discussion shifts to household skills and earning money without explaining how these difficulties result from having to speak a foreign language. The social point—that limited communication reduces interaction and exposure—is relevant, but it is repeated rather than developed with a specific example or consequence. The opening also introduces a counter-view about English-speaking countries and helpful locals, but does not explain or respond to it clearly. To strengthen the response, keep each main idea directly tied to the language barrier and explain its effects with a concrete example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, so the reader can identify its broad structure. There is also some progression from social difficulties to practical concerns. However, the links between ideas are often unclear: the paragraph about Pakistanis’ dependence on parents moves from household chores to earning money without showing how either issue is caused by language. Connectors such as “One of the main reason” and “Most impotantly” signal new points, but the ideas that follow are not consistently organised or explained. The conclusion repeats the main points rather than drawing them together. Use one focused topic sentence per paragraph, develop its explanation in a logical sequence, and use clear references to connect each example to the argument.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “language barrier,” “communication gap,” “social exposure” and “interaction.” These choices help convey the central concern, but the range is limited and several expressions are inaccurate or awkward, sometimes making the intended meaning difficult to follow. For example, “decrease in the social exposure” and “developing their nature of doing their work own their own” are not natural collocations. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “impotantly,” “coclusion” and “there” where “their” is intended. Aim for precise phrases such as “reduced social interaction” and “manage daily responsibilities independently,” and check spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts both simple and longer sentence forms, including a conditional structure in “If we are not able to speak that language…” and a relative clause in “students … who are doing all the household work.” However, the range is limited, and complex sentences are often faulty. Errors in agreement and sentence construction appear in “One of the main reason of these problem is” and “it difficult to understand and speak.” Articles, plurals and punctuation are also inconsistent, as in “a different language than english and it difficult.” These problems sometimes make the reader work to understand the point. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly connected supporting clause, then check subject–verb agreement, articles and punctuation.
