Student answer (Band 5.5)

it is argued that living abrod where people have to use different language can cause problems such as social and practical. I partly agree with this stament, eventough it causes serious problem for people to survive there, it also provide many benifits for the individuals.

Firstly, The reason why i agree is that even minor mistakes in foreign language, while communicating can cause misunderstanding which leads to wrong decisions. When person uses basic level language to communicate with neighbours, native people may struggle to understand the non-native persons language properly. Therefore, they can understand the topic in a wrong way and they work according to what they understand, so whole process gets interputed and may leads to bad outcomes. For instance, when someone asked the address of a place to other person if they are not good at language then he may understand something and lead to wrong destination. Similarly, this causes social and practical problems.

On the other hand, it helps for personal development. If people live in a native country life long they may not get chance to explore diffrent cultures and places. However, living in foreign country enable chance for people to feel new culture and tranditions. In addition, it helps people to learn new skills and techologies which are not present in native country. Due to this, learing new skills peple can get high paides job and helps to be finacial independent. For example, foreign country univeristies provide cancer cure related course which is not included some other countries, so people can access to it if they study abord. Hence, foreign education offers course that which are rare by learning people can get good job.

In conclusion, people Living in foreign country faces social and practical problems while survivng, but is also offers several benefts for people to purse new skills which helps them to employement and experience new cultures and traditions.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you partly agree that language barriers create problems, while also recognising benefits of living abroad. The first body paragraph gives a relevant explanation of how misunderstandings can lead to poor decisions, supported by the example of receiving incorrect directions. The second paragraph addresses benefits such as cultural exposure and education, so both sides of your position are covered. However, the response develops the benefits more broadly than the specific social and practical problems in the prompt; for example, the education example does not clearly show how these benefits balance the stated problems. To strengthen the response, explain your degree of agreement more precisely and develop a few directly relevant examples, such as difficulties accessing services or forming friendships.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs and a conclusion. The progression from language-related difficulties to personal benefits is easy to follow, and signposts such as “Firstly,” “On the other hand” and “In conclusion” help identify the stages of the argument. Some connections are less smooth or precise, however. The first paragraph repeats the idea of problems in its final sentence rather than advancing the explanation, while “Hence” introduces a point that largely repeats the preceding claim about education and employment. Some references, such as “it” in the conclusion, are not fully clear. Aim to make each sentence add a distinct step to the argument and use linking expressions to show exact relationships between ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “misunderstanding,” “native people,” “cultures and traditions,” and “financial independent.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “wrong decisions” and “personal development.” However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make the writing less precise, including “abrod,” “stament,” “interputed,” and “paides.” Some phrases are awkward or unclear, such as “enable chance” and “cancer cure related course.” Build a more accurate set of collocations for migration, communication and education, and check spelling carefully. More precise vocabulary would help distinguish social difficulties from practical ones and make your examples easier to understand.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a conditional example beginning “When someone asked the address” and a cause-and-effect sentence using “Therefore.” This gives the response some structural variety, but errors in sentence construction and control are noticeable. For example, “it also provide many benefits” has a subject–verb agreement problem, and “living in foreign country enable chance” lacks accurate article and verb patterns. The sentence beginning “Due to this, learning new skills…” is also incomplete in its construction, and the conclusion contains an unclear clause after “but.” Review agreement, articles and complete sentence patterns, then proofread punctuation and capitalisation. More consistently controlled complex sentences would make your reasoning clearer.
