Student answer (Band 6.0)
Every country in the world has their own language. Foriegners when move abroad have to learn the language of the state where they live to mitigate the barrier of communicating with the people of that country.
In my opinion, imoving abroad to a place where the language is unknown to you may bring some challanges as this can be obstacle in hunting for jobs or work over there because everywhere employers pereference would be for the people who can speak the native language. In my view, it depends on the nature of your work for intance if your work includes a significant interaction with the society such as a doctor, a salesperson, a pharmacist etc then you have to be fluent in speaking the foriegn language but if you are working in some manufacturing industry or maybe any university as a professor or studying there as a student you can slowly learn the language with the passage of time.
Today the technology has made new innovations making it easier for people to settle in a foriegn land without or with a very negligible use of their language such as there are maps which help you locate your destinations easily. Also, I once had a chance to go to South Korea for a visit to a university and during my whole stay I was able to communicate using the translating applications such as google translate and papago but still these are not fully reliable becuase not all of the community is educated to read but the speaking feature makes the task much more easier.
In conclusion, whenever we are abroad we should try to learn their culture which also include their language too but this factor alone cannot make your life miserable over there.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address the question and give a clear overall view: language difficulties can create challenges, but they do not necessarily make life abroad miserable. The examples about job requirements and your visit to South Korea are relevant, and the distinction between public-facing work and other occupations helps explain your position. However, the response focuses more on practical communication and employment than on serious social problems, such as isolation or difficulty forming relationships. The technology point is also asserted rather than fully explored, and the conclusion could restate your degree of agreement more precisely. Develop both the social and practical effects, then explain how strongly you agree with the statement.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, discussion of employment and technology, a personal example, and a conclusion. Ideas generally progress in a sensible order, and linking expressions such as “In my opinion,” “Also,” and “In conclusion” help guide the reader. However, the second paragraph contains several ideas in one long sentence, making the contrast between different kinds of work harder to follow. The technology and South Korea example are also joined closely, although the example would be clearer as a separate, developed point. Use paragraph breaks to group each main idea, and make references such as “these” in “these are not fully reliable” more explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a range of relevant vocabulary, including “barrier of communicating,” “significant interaction,” “manufacturing industry,” and “translating applications.” These choices help convey the topic, and the reader can generally understand your meaning. However, several spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, including “Foriegners,” “challanges,” “pereference,” and “becuase.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, such as “learn their culture which also include their language” and “a very negligible use of their language.” Aim for accurate spelling and more natural collocations, for example, “learn about the local culture, including its language.” This would make your vocabulary more controlled and appropriate to an academic essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “if your work includes a significant interaction … then you have to be fluent” and a contrast between different types of employment. The main ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors and punctuation problems make parts less smooth. For example, “Every country in the world has their own language” has a subject–pronoun agreement issue, while “when move abroad” is missing a subject and a suitable verb form. The long sentence beginning “In my view, it depends” also needs clearer punctuation or division. Practise accurate clause construction, agreement, and sentence boundaries while retaining your attempts at complex structures.
