Student answer (Band 5.5)

Interacting in a foreign language while residing in a foreign state can be the reason of significant social issues along with concrete difficulties. I agree with this view because although anyone require to speak a foreign language to interact in foreign state, this creates loneliness and serious communication challenges in a numerous situations like while taking lessons in classes, seeking jobs, visiting doctors.

People who start residing in new country with different language while they are still learning it can impact their loneliness along with mental health issues. While they try to interact with local people they get barrier for new language and face difficulties to communicate. Making friends in this process become a serious problem and these people unable to share their feelings, in this way they really feel lonely to a country without any familiar person. To illustrates, the patient of psychologist in foreign countries are more of newly shifting people from different country rather than the local people. Those who shift in new country are more lonelier than the people who are living some places for years. Gradually, this barrier can erase via learning the language but in this process many people fall into depression.

While taking classes in different language student often face way too much difficulties and can't held their attention for a long time in classes. This makes them isolated from other students in class and create a barrier between teacher and student. For instance, in a class students who does not understand the foreign language feels battle between difficulty on understanding the topic and new language that makes situation worse. Those who are seeking jobs can face the similar problem while giving interview their chances of getting the job become less certain than the one who already is expert on this language. Partiality due to the language is very common in this type of situation.

To conclude, staying in a foreign country where foreign language is require to interact can create communal challenges with real-world challenges. I largely agree with this due to language barrier one can face loneliness and can have serious mental health issues as well as significant communication challenges while doing classes or giving interviews.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you agree that living where another language is required can create both social and practical difficulties. You address social effects through loneliness and mental health, and practical effects through studying and job interviews. These are relevant examples, and the conclusion restates your view. However, the two sides are not developed equally: the discussion of education and employment is brief, and the prompt’s practical problems could be explained more specifically, such as difficulties accessing healthcare or handling everyday services. Some claims, including the statement about psychologists’ patients, are broad and not clearly supported. Develop each example with a clearer explanation of how the language barrier causes the problem and how serious its effects are.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs organised around social and practical effects, and a conclusion. This makes your main line of argument easy to identify. You also use linking expressions such as “To illustrates,” “For instance,” and “To conclude” to signal examples and stages in the discussion. At times, however, connections are mechanical or unclear. The first body paragraph moves from making friends to psychologists and then depression without fully explaining the links, while the second combines classroom difficulties and job interviews. Some references, such as “this process” and “this type of situation,” are not precise. Group related examples more clearly and use transitions that show the relationship between each point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “social issues,” “communication challenges,” “mental health,” “isolated,” and “language barrier.” This gives you enough vocabulary to discuss the main ideas, and the intended meaning is generally understandable. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, which limits precision: “the reason of significant social issues,” “impact their loneliness,” “erase via learning,” and “partiality due to the language” do not express the ideas naturally. There is also repetition of “foreign language,” “difficulties,” and “new country.” Aim to learn common word partnerships and choose precise terms—for example, “cause social problems,” “experience loneliness,” and “discrimination based on language”—then vary repeated wording where appropriate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses beginning with “although,” “while,” and “because,” and you attempt to explain causes and consequences. However, errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction are frequent enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. Examples include “anyone require,” “Making friends … become,” “students who does not understand,” and “can’t held their attention.” Some sentences also have unclear or incomplete structures, such as “While they try to interact with local people they get barrier for new language.” Work on subject–verb agreement, verb patterns after modal verbs, and article use. After drafting, check each sentence for a clear subject and verb, and make sure complex clauses are grammatically complete.
