Student answer (Band 6.5)
Residing in a foreign country, in which foreign language is used as a means of communication can have serious social and practical implications. I completely agree with this as it can affect the overall well-being of the individual and can hamper their day-to-day activities.
The reason behind my agreement is that living in a foreign country with non-native speakers can affect the overall well-being of the individual. To explicit, the individual's mental health gets affected due to implications in communicating with the local residents. It would greatly affect their social life which may lead to isolation and loneliness. For instance, students who migrate to different countries for higher education often feel lonely and depressed due to language barrier. Therefore, serious social problems are faced by the individuals who live in different countries.
Furthermore, living in a foreign country with a language barrier can hamper many everyday tasks due to lack of communication. To explain, it can hinder various important tasks such as handling legal documents by which the individual may get in serious trouble if not done carefully. Moreover, people may face challenges in everyday activities such as shopping or commuting from one place to another. Therefore, it can be really challenging for practical purposes.
In conclusion, living in a nation with non-native speakers can be challenging as it can affect the well being of the individual as the individual may feel lonely and depressed. Moreover, it can have some serious practical consequences as the person can get in legal trouble due to lack of communication.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction: “I completely agree,” and the response addresses both social and practical problems. The discussion of loneliness and isolation is relevant, and the examples of legal documents, shopping and commuting help cover practical consequences. This meets the task well overall. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained: the legal-document example does not specify what could go wrong, and the student example could show more clearly how language difficulties lead to isolation. The conclusion repeats the main claims rather than drawing them together. To strengthen the response, develop each example with a specific consequence and explain its connection to the question more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs for social and practical effects, and a conclusion. The progression from mental well-being to everyday tasks is easy to follow, and signposts such as “Furthermore” and “In conclusion” make the structure apparent. At times, however, cohesion feels mechanical because several sentences begin with “Therefore” or “To explain,” and the conclusion largely repeats earlier wording. Some references are also broad, such as “the individual” and “the person,” which makes the prose repetitive. Use a wider range of linking methods, including cause-and-effect connections within sentences, and vary references to people and situations to make the progression smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including “well-being,” “isolation,” “loneliness,” “legal documents” and “commuting.” These choices communicate the main ideas clearly, and you attempt more formal expressions such as “practical implications.” Some less common wording is inaccurate or unnatural, however: “To explicit” is not the correct form, and “implications in communicating” is an awkward collocation. “Non-native speakers” also does not precisely express the intended idea of living where the local language is foreign to you. Repeated use of “individual” and “affect” limits flexibility. Aim for more natural collocations and precise phrasing, while retaining the clear, relevant vocabulary you already use.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including subordinate clauses with “as,” “which” and “if.” Most sentences are understandable, and errors rarely interfere with the message. Some grammatical inaccuracies remain, such as “To explicit,” where the infinitive phrase is not formed correctly, and “due to language barrier,” which needs an article. In the opening sentence, the clause beginning “in which” is awkwardly attached and makes the sentence structure less controlled. The conclusion also repeats “as” in a way that weakens the sentence. Practise accurate clause construction and article use, and revise longer sentences to ensure each modifier clearly refers to the intended noun.
