Student answer (Band 5.0)
Nowadays, moving to the abroad for higher studies is a trending trend running right now in India. However, staying in a nation where you have to speak a different language from your mother tongue can cause serious social issues, as well as pratical problems. I partially agree with this point of view because it has its own advantages and disadvantages. Let us further delve into the topic.
To begin with the importance of learning a foreign language because it is a inital step to learn a language when we are planning for the other country, no matter you are going for the vacations and for longer stays. Learning the foreign language is very crucial because it is important for the communication with others and understanding what they are saying. Also, learning a language is the best way to remove the commmication barrrier between the people, otherwise it can leads to a serious social problem without any issue.
On the other hand, when you are living in a country where the language is barrrier for you. Then, you are facing it a lot you are unable to illustrate whatvyou want and your situation to others which is practically impossible to live or stay with this type of issue for the rest of life. Moreover, in recent years students choose to learn a different language as a subject in the secondary schools such as french and germany.
In conclusion, It is not compulsory that you are only learning the foreign language when you are travelling to the abroad. You can learn it as a skill and some people learning it as hobby, which may help them in future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You state a position—“I partially agree”—and recognise both the value of learning a language and the difficulties of living without one. However, the response only partially addresses the question because it does not clearly explain the serious social problems and practical problems that can result. The first body paragraph mainly recommends learning a language, while the second mentions difficulty expressing yourself but does not develop specific consequences or examples. The point about students studying French or German is not clearly connected to the effects of living abroad. To strengthen the response, explain concrete outcomes, such as isolation or difficulty accessing healthcare, and show how these support your degree of agreement.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has a recognisable introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and signposts such as “To begin with,” “On the other hand” and “In conclusion” help indicate the intended structure. However, progression between ideas is not consistently clear. The first body paragraph begins with learning a language rather than directly developing the social and practical problems in the prompt, and the reference to school subjects in the next paragraph feels disconnected. Some sentences are difficult to follow because ideas are joined without clear relationships, as in “Then, you are facing it a lot you are unable to illustrate…”. Build each paragraph around one relevant point, explain it, and use linking phrases to show cause and effect rather than relying mainly on general signposts.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary, including “mother tongue,” “communication,” “social issues” and “practically impossible,” so the reader can identify the general topic. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive. “Trending trend” is redundant, “moving to the abroad” is unnatural, and “language is barrier” does not express the idea clearly. Spelling errors such as “pratical,” “commmication” and “barrrier” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise phrases that describe the consequences of language difficulties, and check spelling carefully. Using a wider range of accurate terms for isolation, misunderstanding and access to services would make the discussion clearer and more convincing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason clause with “because” and a contrast introduced by “On the other hand.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors frequently make sentences difficult to interpret. For example, “To begin with the importance of learning a foreign language because…” is a fragment, while “it can leads” has incorrect verb agreement and form. The sentence beginning “Then, you are facing it a lot” also combines clauses without a clear grammatical structure. Articles and sentence boundaries are inconsistent, as in “it is a inital step” and the capitalised “It” after the comma in the conclusion. Practise complete sentences and check verb forms, articles and punctuation.
