Student answer (Band 5.5)

There are many many social and practical issues in a country, where you can't speak in their local language. In this eassy, we dicuss these kind of problems and genuinely, I agree with the statement in term of living in abroad as a student or worker.

A lot of people facing numerous challenges in their daily life just because they don't know how to speak the local language. Many students cannot get the job in abroad due to this weakness. Moreover, they have to face lot of challenges just to get some food. As a students, they have a bit advantage that local knew about the language that mostly students can speak. However, if anybody travel to a foreign country for a job than he has to face a myriad of obstacles. People do much struggle ahead of a basic conversation with a local. Such as, individuals are jobless even for six months in Germany because it is essential to knew about the German language even just basic level. Nowadays, Germany introduced a new policy in which policymakers claim that every student has to learn the A2 or B1 level of German language in order to get the visa.

I also believe that learning a foreign language is very important in order to live in a different country.

People face numerous challenges in occupation or building a career in new country as they don't have ability to communicate in public especially they face problems in general stores, markets and in their respective colleges. For instance, millions of students are jobless in Europe as they don't know about the local language such as French, Italian and German.

In conclusion, living in a foreign country in which you don't know how to speak in their respective language you have to face some serious issues and crucial things. I completely agree with this statement.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you agree that living without the local language creates serious difficulties. You address both practical concerns, such as finding work and obtaining food, and social communication, including basic conversations with local people. The examples about Germany and language requirements help make the discussion relevant. However, the response mainly repeats the same point—that people struggle because they cannot communicate—and gives limited explanation of the social effects, such as isolation or difficulty forming relationships. Some claims, including that millions of students are jobless in Europe, are broad and not clearly supported. Develop distinct reasons and explain how each example demonstrates the problem to make the argument more complete and convincing.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable introduction, body paragraphs and conclusion, and the reader can follow its general argument. Linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “However,” and “For instance” show an attempt to connect ideas. However, progression is limited because both body paragraphs return to employment and communication difficulties without clearly separating practical problems from social ones. Some connections are unclear: the point that students have “a bit advantage” because locals know a language does not explain the preceding claim about students’ challenges. Repeated references to “numerous challenges” also make the development feel circular. Organise each paragraph around one main aspect, then use clear explanations and examples to build that aspect logically.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “myriad of obstacles,” “basic conversation,” “policymakers,” and “communicate,” which helps convey the central ideas. However, the range is uneven and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “challenges,” “language,” and “local.” Some collocations and word choices are inaccurate or awkward, such as “face lot of challenges,” “struggle ahead of a basic conversation,” and “in term of living in abroad.” Spelling errors such as “eassy” and “dicuss” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise expressions for social and practical consequences, and check spelling and natural word combinations when editing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “because,” “as,” and “in which.” This gives the response some structural variety, and the main meaning is generally understandable. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction. Examples include “Many students cannot get the job,” “As a students,” “local knew,” and “it is essential to knew.” The opening sentence also has an unclear structure, while the final sentence combines clauses awkwardly. Practise checking subject–verb agreement and verb forms, and build longer sentences around one clear main clause with correctly attached supporting information.
