Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
Your position is clear in the opening: “I agree with the statement,” and you address both social and practical difficulties. Examples such as workplace communication, paperwork, shopping, and asking a doctor for help are relevant to the question. However, the response only partially develops these points: most are listed rather than explained with a specific situation or consequence, and the conclusion mainly repeats the opening idea. The response is also 65 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop your reasons and examples. To strengthen the answer, explain how one or two language barriers create practical problems and give a concrete example, then develop the social effects separately.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has a basic overall structure: an introduction, paragraphs about practical and social effects, and a conclusion. This helps the reader identify your main points. However, progression within paragraphs is limited because several ideas are presented as lists, such as “buy gloceries, purchase dailylife things and ask a doctor.” Some linking expressions are repetitive or do not show the intended relationship clearly: “Conversly” introduces a point that supports your agreement, while “However” does not establish a clear contrast. The final paragraph is very brief and repeats earlier content rather than drawing the argument together. Use topic sentences, connect each example to its effect, and choose linking words that accurately express addition, contrast, or cause.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “work place communication,” “paperwork,” “culture and tradition,” “loneliness,” and “depression.” These choices make your main concerns understandable. However, the range is limited and some expressions are repeated, particularly “problem” and “affect.” Frequent spelling errors, including “forgein,” “lonliness,” and “commiucation,” make the writing less clear and reduce the accuracy of your vocabulary. Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “heavy pressure on mind” and “purchase dailylife things.” Build a wider set of accurate collocations for language barriers and their consequences, and check spelling carefully. More precise wording will help you explain your ideas without relying on repeated general terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason clause beginning “Due to the fact” and a conditional idea about people who do not speak the language. The main meaning is usually recoverable, but frequent errors in sentence structure and basic grammar make some sentences difficult to follow. For example, “people who don't speak forgein language that cause major problem” lacks a clear grammatical structure, while “it affect the social life” has a subject–verb agreement error. Articles and plural forms are also often missing, as in “a english language” and “make a friend.” Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement, articles, and plurals. Aim for accurate sentences before adding more complex clauses.
