Student answer (Band 5.0)
Moving to a nation wide where one must communicate in foreign tongue introduced an array of complex hardships. I fully agree with the assertion that a language barrier trigger a difficulties in our daily life and in social complicatipon in the community life.
On a pratical level, local language distrupts in our life. Such as in our practical life we face barriers to cope with basic neccesities like renting a house, buying something from market, also in communication for international student with teachers and with local community. Most critically, emergencies involving healthcare or legal matters become downright dangerous for individuals for conveying symptoms of disease to doctors for adquate treatment. Furthermore, practical proffesion are immense. Most high paying carriers require native or professional fluency, forcing highly skilled immigrants into underemployed positions

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
Your position is clear: “I fully agree,” and you identify both practical and social difficulties, which is relevant to the prompt. The practical examples—renting a house, shopping, communicating with teachers, and seeking healthcare—show an understanding of the issue. However, the response addresses the task only partially: social problems are mentioned in the introduction but not explained or supported in the body, and the point about employment is left unfinished. The response also does not meet the required minimum of 250 words, so there is too little development to explain your reasons fully or provide a relevant personal or general example. Develop both sides of the prompt with specific explanations and examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some organisation: the opening states your view, and the next paragraph focuses mainly on practical consequences. Linking expressions such as “Furthermore” and “Most critically” help signal additions and emphasis. However, the response has no developed paragraph about social problems, and the progression within the practical paragraph is uneven. “Such as” begins a fragment rather than a complete sentence, while the shift from daily necessities to professional opportunities is abrupt. The final point also ends without a concluding explanation. To improve, use a clear sequence of paragraphs—introduction, practical problems, social problems, and conclusion—and connect each example explicitly to your main argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt topic-relevant vocabulary, including “language barrier,” “basic necessities,” “healthcare,” and “underemployed positions.” These choices show an effort to discuss practical consequences beyond very basic terms. However, spelling and word-choice errors are frequent and sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow, as in “nation wide,” “complicatipon,” “distrupts,” and “carriers” where you appear to mean careers. Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “practical professions are immense” and “local language disrupts in our life.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. A smaller set of precise phrases will communicate your ideas more effectively than ambitious wording used inaccurately.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and more complex constructions, including “Most critically, emergencies involving healthcare or legal matters become downright dangerous…” This shows some willingness to vary sentence structure. However, the range remains limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make parts of the response difficult to read. For example, “a language barrier trigger a difficulties” has problems with subject–verb agreement and article/plural use, while “for conveying symptoms of disease to doctors” does not form a clear grammatical relationship with the surrounding clause. “Such as in our practical life we face barriers…” is also an incomplete construction. Practise building complete sentences with clear subjects and verbs, and check agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries.
