Student answer (Band 5.5)
Learning new languages will enhance our intellectual abilities. Some people believes that speaking international languages can affect persons social and professional life. I strongly disagree with the point because it can promotes exchange of culturals and ideas.
On the one hand, people faces difficulties in learning and speaking different languages, which makes them look underconfident. People always think before speaking, which can led to isolation, so that they donot feel more embarrassed. Foreign language can affects individuals professional life which includes not able to obtain employment according to their skills because of their ineffective communication. Moreover, individuals will ultimately face challanges in survival due to not having proper income. It results in affecting their living standards and quality of life. For example, a student migrated to some international country and struggling for his skill related employment options, will eventually work for survival and to try to fulfill basic needs.
On the other hand, learning new languages create opportunities for cultural exchanges. It enhances knowledge by exploring different cultures, which can develop unity and prosperity among different communities. Furthermore, it allows to exchange different ideas and promotes equality by understanding and accepting others point of view, which can reduce conflicts between different countries. For instance, travelling to different countries and exploring their culture, foods and lifestyle will increase our knowledge and create a sense of acceptance amoung us .
In conclusion, foreign languages are difficult to learn, but learning is important to accept different cultures globally. In my opinion, learning process can make a person uncomfortable. However, it can help to expand cultural exchange and make world a place without miscommunication and conflicts.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you disagree that living in a foreign-language country necessarily causes serious problems, and you argue that language learning can encourage cultural exchange. You also acknowledge practical and social difficulties, such as isolation and trouble finding suitable work, which is relevant to the prompt. However, the response only partly develops the extent of your disagreement. The first body paragraph gives several consequences but does not explain how people or institutions might address them, while the benefits in the second paragraph are broad and not closely tied to the experience of living in a foreign-language country. Develop each main point with a more specific explanation or example, and make the contrast between the problems and benefits support your position more directly.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs signposted by “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a conclusion. This helps readers follow the broad direction of the argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the first moves from speaking difficulties to employment, income and living standards without fully connecting each step. Some linking phrases, such as “so that” and “Moreover,” do not clearly express the relationship between the ideas that follow. The conclusion also repeats the cultural-exchange point rather than drawing together the argument. Use clearer cause-and-effect links and develop one central idea at a time; ensure pronouns such as “it” have an unmistakable reference.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “isolation,” “employment,” “cultural exchanges,” “prosperity” and “miscommunication,” so the reader can understand the main ideas. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “living standards and quality of life.” However, the range is limited by repeated general words such as “different,” “people” and “learning,” and several word-choice or word-form errors make expressions awkward: “underconfident,” “skill related employment options,” and “accepting others point of view.” Spelling errors such as “challanges” and “amoung” also reduce accuracy. Build precision by choosing natural collocations and checking spelling and possessive forms; for example, describe “employment suited to their skills” rather than using the less natural phrase in the essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “which” and “because,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to process. Examples include “Some people believes,” “people faces,” “which can led,” and “learning new languages create,” where subject–verb agreement or verb forms are incorrect. In “it can promotes,” the modal verb is followed by an incorrect verb form. There are also problems with articles, plurals and sentence construction, as in “Foreign language can affects individuals professional life.” Practise checking each sentence’s subject and verb, and use a smaller number of well-controlled complex sentences before adding more elaborate clauses.
