Student answer (Band 5.5)

Yes, I agree with the statement staying in the abroad countries will be difficult and cause speaking language issues and practical problems.

If we are staying in our own country we can speak our native language very clearly and we understand the words other speak clearly ad we will have the confidennce to speak in our native language in our country. once , if we move to the foreign country then we have to adapt ourselves to speak there language beacuse most of them in foreign speaks english. As we are new to that country there will be problem in speaking perfect english . So, the communication and pranounciation may varies ad some words that we dont know may speak or pranounced wrongly may affect other feelings and lead to a verbal fight.

If we dont know the proper language of their country then we has to face many problem because of communication lacking and we cant built proper relationships with others and it will make us feel lonely and isolated that leads to the mental problems. sometime the bulling may happen due to the improper language or pranounciation we speak and we cannot defend ourself with the proper verbal communication due to lack of language skills. Many will face these type of issues due to lack of confidence and self doubt. If we improve and adapt ourselves then we will quickly learn there languages and can give perfect replies to them.

To conclude, speaking in foreign language may be difficult at the starting of the point once we adapt and improve our speaking skills with the proper plan then it cannot create any social issues and problems.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You take a clear position in agreement and address both social and practical difficulties. The discussion of isolation, difficulty forming relationships, bullying, and misunderstandings is relevant, and the example of a mispronounced word causing offence helps illustrate a possible consequence. However, the practical problems named in the prompt are not developed clearly: most of the response focuses on communication and social effects, with little about everyday tasks such as accessing services, working, or handling appointments. The final paragraph also shifts towards saying these problems can be overcome, without clarifying how this qualifies your agreement. Develop a specific practical example and explain whether you believe the problems are serious, temporary, or both.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has an identifiable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Ideas are generally grouped by topic, with the second body paragraph focusing on relationships and isolation. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow, and several points are repeated, particularly the need to learn or improve the language. Linking words such as “So,” “If,” and “To conclude” are used, but connections between claims are not always precise; for example, the move from mispronunciation to a verbal fight is asserted rather than explained. Some references, including “these type of issues,” are unclear. Organise each body paragraph around one main claim, then explain it with a cause-and-effect link and a concrete example.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use a basic range of vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “communication,” “relationships,” “lonely,” “isolated,” and “confidence.” These words help convey the main concerns, but the range is limited and several expressions are repeated, such as “proper language” and “problems.” Some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unclear, including “staying in the abroad countries,” “communication lacking,” and “perfect replies.” Spelling errors such as “confidennce,” “pranounciation,” and “bulling” also make the writing less clear. Build a more precise vocabulary for practical and social challenges, and check spelling and natural word combinations when editing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple sentences and longer clauses, for example, “If we don’t know the proper language… then…” and the sentence linking isolation with mental problems. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries occur frequently. Examples include “we has to face,” “the communication and pronunciation may varies,” and “most of them in foreign speaks English.” Tense and conditional patterns are also inconsistent, as in “If we are staying” and “once, if we move.” These errors sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to understand. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and conditional forms, and divide long sentences into shorter, complete units with clear punctuation.
