Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You state a clear disagreement, particularly in “in my case i disagree with this statement,” and give examples involving your brother and uncle. However, the response focuses mainly on the benefits of learning languages for education, jobs and personal development, rather than explaining the social and practical problems named in the prompt. The examples are brief and do not show in detail why living in a foreign-language country would or would not cause these problems. The conclusion repeats your general view without weighing both sides. The response is also 15 words below the required minimum. To strengthen your answer, address social and practical difficulties directly, explain your position in relation to each, and develop specific examples with clearer reasoning.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

Your response has a basic overall structure: an introduction, supporting paragraphs and a conclusion. Connectors such as “Moreover,” “Furthermore” and “In conclusion” help signal movement between points. However, progression is limited because several ideas repeat, especially that learning languages improves knowledge, personality and job opportunities. The relationship between the prompt and the examples is not always clear, and the brother’s story is difficult to follow. Some linking phrases are used mechanically, while punctuation and spacing sometimes interrupt the flow. Organise the body around distinct points—such as social interaction and practical communication—and make each paragraph develop one point with an explanation and a relevant example.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use a basic range of topic-related vocabulary, including “foreign language,” “job opportunities,” “universities” and “personality,” so your general meaning is usually understandable. However, vocabulary is repetitive, with “learn,” “language,” “opportunities” and “personality” appearing repeatedly, and some word choices or collocations are unclear, such as “multiples of language” and “grooming our personality.” Frequent spelling errors—including “sucess,” “knowldge” and “opportunites”—also make the writing less clear and controlled. Build a wider set of accurate expressions for the task, including terms for communication barriers, social isolation and everyday services. Check spelling carefully and learn common word partnerships rather than translating phrases directly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, and the response includes some linking clauses, for example, “because he understand all things whatever, they said.” However, sentence structures are often faulty, and errors frequently make the intended meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “when we learn more languages it increase our knowldge,” “Learn more languages is the way is the way to get success,” and “my brother learn multiple foreign language.” These show problems with subject–verb agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence construction. Punctuation and capitalisation are also inconsistent. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them using clear subordinate clauses; proofread each sentence for a clear subject, correctly formed verb and complete structure.
